8th grade graduation.
"May I'm so nervous what if I trip and everyone sees!"
"Phhft you'll be fine plus I'm the one who's wearing heels, you're in flats which makes walking simple." I nodded trying to reassure myself.
Today was the day of our eighth grade graduation. Finally I'll be in highschool because boy was middle school a living hell. Not going to lie, but I'm a teensy tiny bit worried because I hope my friend group doesn't break or get distant and the work won't be so stressful. Thank god May will go to the highschool within the same district like me.
And half of the other kids in my class which sucks.
We were standing outside getting ready to go through the aisle to the stage. Everyone was fixing their hair, dresses and ties.
"Can you believe it took so long to find a simple tie?" I turned around and laughed at my friend Cole talking with Grayson. He was having a hard time tying his tie.
"Wow I've never seen a tie with so many knots before." Grayson came and started fixing his tie, a short giggle coming out of his lips. For a second I was in awe.
"There." Cole sighed. "Thanks Gray I spent a whole freaking hour looking for a suit and tie." He turned to me giving me the most exaggerated look. I laughed.
"I spent about four hours at the mall just looking for this white dress, dress shopping is just as hard." I said. Grayson let out a small laugh. "I was in the mall for an hour and bought these pants and this green dress shirt. I'm just wearing these black vans since I hate dress shoes." I chuckled. "You guys look nice."
"When don't I just look at me like damn." I cracked a smile. "Cole you're so conceited.""Thanks Samira." Said Grayson. "Also I look better than you." I glared at him. "Shut up Peter Pan lookin ass." Cole laughed and Grayson broke his intimidating state and burst out laughing too. His smile and laugh is contagious and I couldn't help but laugh myself. "I'm Kidding I'm kidding you look fine." He said smiling.
"Well yeah thanks a lot you tree."
"But really? Peter Pan ? How creative." He rolled his eyes.
"I know I am." I said flipping my hair. He shook his head and chuckled.
Our home room teacher got our attention. "Okay so we're about to go in as you can hear the music playing, get in line!"With that one by one would enter the room full of people where we'd get our diplomas.
"Maya Travis."
Good luck you look great go on." I whispered.
"Thanks. Cheer me on!"
"I will go go!"
I watched my best friend walk in.
And now it was my turn.
"Samira Odel."
