I sat down next to mama, right across from Coulson and blue eyes. She took my hand in hers and squeezed it lightly. I looked at her, now I'm really afraid.

"Listen, if my last father sent you here to kill me or something, I've got news for you two," I started, looking at them both. Their eyes widened, and mama gasped.

"No, no no, you've got it all wrong." Blue eyes said, looking into mine.

"Hon, we've been over this before, he's not coming back. He tried, he failed, he's in jail. Calm down." She said in a loving, hushed tone. I looked at them and mama, then nodded.

"Well you guys weren't telling me anything, so I suspected the worst. Now, can you please tell me? Not to be rude or anything, but I have calc homework to do and it's not going to do itself." I said, sighing.

"You can worry about your home work some other time Indi, we have big news... way more important then calculus." Mama said.

"It sounds like you're going to break it to me that I'm adopted." I chuckled nervously. Of coarse I knew I was, but that thought couldn't help those movies of people finding out their adopted flow back into my mind..

"Well, it does have something to do with your lineage." Coulson said. I looked at him, eyes widened.

"Tell me. Now." I demanded, starting to get hot. My face never turns red, but my body does get weirdly hot when I get angry.

"There's no way to sugercoat it, but we've found your father." He stated simply while getting ready for any negative reaction I could throw at him. I whipped my head towards the other man, scanning him from head to toe.

"...He's my father." I stated, blinking back tears. I was stronger than this, I was good at hiding my emotions. And so I did. I created an emotionless mask, with every other emotion hiding beneath it. Fuck.

He, my father, looked at me. I saw hope in his eyes... my eyes. We had the exact color, a piercing ocean blue. We had the same hair color as well.

"Yes, he's your father." Coulson confirmed. I looked down, and chuckled humorlessly. Don't loose it Indi. Don't.

"Why did you leave me? Was I not good enough? Was I a nuisance?" I asked, looking up a little. He was about to disagree with all his heart, when Coulson interrupted him.

"That's why we're here. We have a lot to tell you Indi, and for the first couple of hours you won't believe anything we say. But it will make sense, sooner or later." Coulson said.

"And no, you were never a nuisance, or not good enough, or anything like that India..." Blondie quickly rushed to say. He.. pleaded? He sounded like he was trying to convince me, but it wasn't the heartless kind of convincing. It was the truth. But I wasn't going to welcome him into my life just yet. I barely know the guy. Maybe his name's on my necklace? I'll give it a shot, I thought, and took out the dog tag necklace with two pendants. One had a man's name, Steve Rogers, and random numbers and codes. The other one had the guy's rank listed on it.

"Is this yours, then? I came with it." I said sarcastically, and handed it to him.

"I want it back though." I added as he stared at the shining silver metal, twirling it around with his fingers, memories rushing back in his head.

"Yes, it is mine. Peggy must've given it to you..." He said, smiling. His eyes though, held a deep sadness. He grasped it in his hands, then gave it back to me. I took it and put it back on my neck.
