Bill pursed his lips and looked at Steve. "I'm sorry, we did all we could." He said sadly. Steve put his head in his hands and sat down on the floor.
"Steve..." Stark said. He really didn't know what to say; he was devastated too, but he wasn't the one to comfort people- it wasn't in his personality. He'd rather mourn alone. Out of the blue, there was a small, almost inaudible gasp for air.

I started coughing... well, choking. On water and my own spit... gah, the salt! I tried to open my eyes but they were like concrete, they wouldn't budge. Wait, where was I?
"She's breathing! Put the O2 mask back on!" I heard someone shout. O2 mask? What's happening? I felt the mask cover my nose and mouth; I tried to inhale deeply.
"Indi! Sweetheart open your eyes, everything's fine." Dad...? What's he doing here?
"She's going to be okay. Right?" Stark? Where the fuck did he come from?
I felt the energy add up in my body, so I fluttered my eyes open and looked around. I was stabalized with a neck brace so my head wouldn't move. I looked at dad and Stark from the corner of my eye, and they exhaled with relief. Dad looked like he was about to cry, and Stark actually looked like he cared.
I squinted my eyes in concentration, sifting through all the memories I had. "Um... how did this happen? Last thing I remember is being on...w-wait... oh." FUCK LOKI. GODDAMN ASSHOLE I'M GONNA CRUSH HIM.
"Should we transport her to the hospital?" One medic asked, clearly frightened. He looked like he just saw a ghost or something.
"HOSPITAL? LOKI WILL NEED A HOSPITAL WHEN I'M DONE WITH HIM!" I shouted and sat up, pulling the stupid mask and neck brace off of me.
"She recovers quickly." Stark snorted.
"Indi, calm down. Are you feeling okay?" Dad asked as I took off stickers on my chest.
"You died, so we're genuinely concerned." Stark retorted. I stopped what I was doing and looked at him.
"...Again? Ugh, this is the third time!" I sighed, standing up. I stumbled and dad grabbed my arm.
"Just gimme a sec..." I whispered as I balanced myself. Now that I think about it, I did feel sick. But that wasn't getting in the way of beating Loki.
"Wait, a third time?!" Stark and Dad said simultaneously, interrupting my thoughts.
"Yep, and I'll tell you all about it later. Now c'mon, we've got a loser to destroy!" I shouted.
"No Indi. You're staying here." Dad said sternly, protectively.
"No, I'm coming with you two. He thinks I'm dead! And I can help with killing the Chitauri! Please!" I pouted.
"She does control fire, y'know. I'd let her." Stark whispered in dad's ear. I grinned and threw my arms out.
"See? Stark gets it! So please dad?" I begged. The medic awkwardly left after he collected his belongings. Awh, I wanted to say thanks.
"If I may here, Indi could watch Loki. The Hulk already took care of him, so she'd just burn him whenever he got up... and I don't think he will get up. Plus, she could talk to us incase something happened. Simple." Stark gave me an earpiece, then crossed his arms.
"...Fine," Dad said reluctantly, "Just don't get hurt, and--"
"Yeah dad, got it, bye!" I grinned and shot up into the air. I decided to knock out a couple of Chitauri on the way just for fun.
