Takeover

"I just need to forget about him. He's not a part of my life anymore... although I am keeping his ring. As a memory... and because it's cute." I sighed as I put on my clothes, talking to myself again. God, people must think I'm crazy if they can hear me. I took the ring out of my backpack, running my fingers over the small crevices and holes, tons memories whirling around in my head. It was of a silver skull, which was something that he would buy. Eli was kind of gothy, in a way.

I pursed my lips and put the ring on my index finger. It was supposed to go on the ring finger or pinkie, but my fingers were too skinny. "Oh, fuck it." I huffed. I gave in and tried to call his number one last time, but the effort was to no avail. He was gone, and I needed to get over him. I was used to that, with multiple families and all.

I grabbed my books and teleported to the lab, eager to do some work. Yesterday was one whole day without my two favorite subjects... how did I not die? They were the only things I was good at! My fortes, my strong suits, my abilities! The things that could make me one of the sexiest nerds in existence! I basically depended on these courses.

I popped into the room as the flames circling around me extinguished. Stunned, Bruce jumped and held on to the desk. "Fuck, sorry Bruce! I forgot that I shouldn't be scaring you and stuff like that." I exclaimed, keeping my distance in case he would go all Hulk.

"It's alright, Tony does worse." He said with a small smile, fixing the kilowatts for something on a small flatscreen touch device.

"Well that sucks. Can I use this board?"  I asked, walking to the other side of the room. The board was rather large, and had a whole bunch of markers. AND it was double sided, on wheels, and super clean.

"Sure, no one else is." He grinned as I jumped up and down.

"Thanks!" I opened my book, excited to get started.

"Okay, let's remember that force is not necessary to maintain motion." Bruce explained as he scribbled down what he just said on the board. Man, a lot of time passed since I first came in here. It's one in the afternoon... damn.

"Thank God for Newton." I commented. He chuckled and went on talking.

"So let’s plug in our 9.8 meters per second squared as A and we get force, which is Earth gravity,--"

"And that equals mass times 9.8 meters per second per second. So we can see that MA equals MG." I finished.

"Are you sure you aren't a college student?" He asked jokingly, putting the cap back on my expo marker and wiping his hands on his khaki's, looking at me withe curiosity.

"I'm pretty sure. Thanks for helping me, by the way. I can't believe the answer was that simple, it looked so complex and just... mind blowing. In a bad way."

"That's why physics is such a hard subject. Usually people don't see the answer, and even with all the equations put out right in front of you, it becomes like you said, mind blowing."

"Exactly. I'm gonna go grab a bite to eat, do you want me to bring you a sandwich or a drink?" I asked politely.

"No thanks; I'll eat later. I need to see how many teraflops this thing will emit." He said, examining Loki's scepter.

" 'Kay, have fun!" I said, then sauntered over to the food court (not before grabbing my books and rolling the board to my room, of coarse.)

Hmm, what shall I eat today? The PB & J looks good. I grabbed it and sat down to eat, flipping through random TV channels. I landed on TV Land, where I Love Lucy was playing. Can't go wrong with the classics, and it was pretty funny too. After about two minutes of watching, I was making dying whale noises from laughing so hard. Lucy and Ethel were trying to wrap candies, but the conveyor belt was going too fast, so they ended up going crazy.
