"Lacey! Lacey!" I felt a hand shake me awake. I looked around I was still in Ryan's house but he was up getting his shoes on and I had a blanket around me.

"I am so sorry you have to wake up like this babe but the guys are coming in five minutes." Ryan hoped on one foot trying to tie his shoe and kiss me I just came to him.

"It's fine what's the time?" I rubbed my eyes and got my costume back on.

"Nine twenty five." He looked at his watch while buttoning his shirt.

"So what are you and the guys doing?"

"Cards before our shifts start."

"When do your shifts start?"

"Starts at noon and ends at five." Ryan hung his tie around his neck and then did it up. The uniform was completed with a dark green suit jacket with various decorative medals.

"How do I look?"

"Handsome as always." I gave him a smile and kissed him goodbye.

"Please come back soon."

"I'll do anything I can to see you again I promise." With that I left. I bought the food that we needed along with other small things. The city was a horrible place I never wanted Marlee or Mallory to see this let alone sweet little Amelia. I wasn't going to tell her about Melissa's death she was still little.

"Help me! Get off me!" A woman's voice was heard but no one seemed to care. I looked around a corner and in some dark ally there was two large men harassing a woman.

"Look at her!" The men continued to harass the poor woman. The woman was in rags and was covered in marks she had red hair but it looked brown from all the filth in it.

"Leave her alone!" I stepped in front of the woman.

"Or what?"

"I'll call my friends on you?" I tried to sound fearless but these guys were huge.

"Who are your friends?" The one man had his face in mine. I could smell beer on his breath he was drunk.

"Lacey!" I looked over to see Ryan again.

"Ryan what a surprise." I smiled sweetly at the men the looked at each other. The woman stayed behind me cowering.

"Alright but your 'friend' won't always be here for you sweetheart." The drunk said his tone shot chills down my back. They were gone in a blink of the eye.

"Thank you! Thank you!" The woman got down on her knees and praised me.

"It was nothing are you okay?" I help her up and saw her face.

"June?"

"Lacey?" I nodded and June flung her arms around me.

"Oh Lace it was awful! Tex tricked me he said he loved me he never loved me I was just a popularity booster. I was the tutor for the Princess Lacey the public loved you and me for training you. Once you left I was the most wanted because I had information in your family. Tex said he loved me but he only wanted information and the people to calm down." June started to cry I heard guards and their horses.

"Here take this I'm sorry I can't stay." I hugged June once more then looked at Ryan he took the message.

"I heard the screams I thought it was you." Ryan whispered into my ear I nodded and he crated a distraction to save June and me.

I walked four hours at least until I got back.

"Lacey!" Amelia was playing outside with Lucas and Aubrey.

"I missed you so much." Amelia pulled me into a hug. Lucas and Aubrey then came to hug me.

"I have something for you." I handed Amelia the picture from her friend.

"Melissa?! You saw Melissa?!" Amelia jumped up and down with the picture.

"Yes and she said that she misses you tons." I watched as my sister clung to the pictures she had gotten from Melissa.

"I miss her more!" Amelia grabbed Aubrey's hand and pulled her inside.

"Oh baby!" My mother ran across the yard her eyes red and puffy.

"Lacey darling are you okay? Was Ryan nice to you? How was your trip?"

"Um... I'm fine thank you, Ryan was very welcoming and my trip was okay." I smiled and gave my mom a kiss on the cheek.

"That's good sweetie come bring the stuff inside." I lifted the bags with my stuff and walked in only to be bombarded by my family.

"Was Newson good? Did he do anything?" My father hugged me and gave me a sharp look.

"Ryan treated me like a old friend." I didn't completely lie but if looks could kill I'd be dead.
