It was amazing what a few guests and some food can do to a atmosphere. The children danced as Mother sang a silly child's tune. Amelia wore the dress she was evacuated in the light airy fabric made it appear weightless. Mrs. Carbon sat talking to Mrs. Van Hall enthusiastically while holding her new baby Theo. Mrs. Chang danced with her young daughter Gracie and her husband held their new daughter Coral. Mother and Father had moved our sparse furniture which we had gotten from friends and donations so our guests could dance.

"Lacy come dance!" a gitty Amelia pulled on my arm. I looked at my giggling sister as she tugged trying to pull me out of my seat. Behind Amelia was her best friend Aubrey who also was giggling and dancing with Tucker.

"Mels." I whinnied half laughing as she pulled harder. Then she gave up stood in front of me and crossed her arms.

"You know you promised to teach me how to waltz. You know like the princesses do!" Amelia made a fake pouty face.

"You are a princess."

"No I'm not I don't know how to waltz a princess needs to know how to waltz or she's not proper!" Amelia stomped her foot in frustration I rolled my eyes getting up Amelia's face lit up to its happy normal self. I extended my hand Amelia took it gracefully immediately I was transferred to a memory. I was now in our old grand ballroom with golden walls and floors a crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling. I was now in a beautiful sliver dress with golden lace on the selves I felt like a princess again. My partner was no longer Amelia but Ryan instead he looked so handsome in his soldiers uniform decorated with all his medals. All around me were people of all ages dancing, signing and laughing all dressed in beautiful clothes some of the woman's dresses looked like they were solid gold.

"I missed you Lace, haven't seen you all week." Ryan whispered in my ear as we waltzed together.

"I missed you too Ry." I inched closer to Ryan our chests pressed against each other I felt adrenalin running through my body. His firm hand rubbed against my back slowly which I just realized was open I laid my head on his shoulder. Our waltz turned in to a embraceful slow dance. I rested my chin on Ryan's firm shoulder he kept his head straight pressing me into him I didn't care I loved it. Then I felt a sudden thud on my foot the ballroom, gown and people disappeared Ryan went with them.

"Oh sorry Lacy! Are you okay?" Amelia's voice snapped me back into reality I was back at my parents small anniversary party dancing with Amelia.

"It's fine..." I tried not to sound disappointed but my fantasies were much more interesting then my reality.

"May I cut in?" a small voice sounded behind me I turned and saw little Lucas Van Hall. I looked over at Amelia she looked back sheepishly bu Lucas stood there staring at me proudly. I let go of one of Amelia's hands and gave Lucas the other.

"Of coarse your highness." I gave him a slight bow and walked away. Mother and Mrs. Van Hall stood in the corner of the room chatting while holding their drinks in their hands.

"Lacy! Come here!" Mom signaled me over to join her conversation.

"Yeah Mom?" I gave Mrs. Van Hall a sweet smile she put her hand on my shoulder.

"Darling, did you teach Amelia to dance like that?" Mom watched Amelia and Lucas dance gracefully.

"Yes I did."

"Let me just say dear you should teach all the children to dance because she caught on so fast, but Amelia is quite a bright child so that's no surprise." Mrs. Van Hall laughed after she spoke gripping my shoulder tighter unconsciously.

"Oh Nicolette, please Lucas is a very smart pupil!" mother commented happily.

"Who said he wasn't!" Mrs. Van Hall took a sip from her glass. Mother and I laughed I stepped back a few inches signalling my departure.

"Everyone I'd like to say a few words!" the strong proud voice of King Tuskan was sounded from the far corner of the room.

"Twenty two years ago I married my lovely wife Baliey Gordon Gillia. Baliey is a amazing mother, wife and person and I love her to death. Since this is our anniversary tonight I'd like to repeat my wedding vows, so if you don't mind." he cleared his throat I looked at my Mother who looked like she was in a trance.

"For richer or poorer, through sickness and through health and through the good times and the bad. These words cannot describe my feelings for you my dearest Baliey. You have been there for me every hour of everyday and every minute of every hour and for that I give you my eternal love. I will treat you like the queen you deserve to be you will be one of the best for sure since you are the kindest, gentlest most caring person I have ever laid eyes on. I have only one phrase left for you my darling. You can take my money, my home or even my life but no one can take my love for my wife." after my dad sat down everyone looked at one another some even had tears in their eyes but the small children just continued their games.

"Tuskan that was just... I loved that one part when... oh Tuskan I love you!" Mom wrapped her arms around my Dad and for the first time I really saw them kiss, like actually kiss each other. This wasn't the kind of kiss like the one you give your husband as he's walking out the door for work or the slandered good night kiss this was a real kiss.

"Lacy why don't you have a prince?" Amelia tugged on my skirt and asked me wideyed. I sighed as Ryan crossed my mind for the second time tonight.

"Well Amelia I had lots and lots of suitors ask me to meet them on a date but none of them were prince charming so I let them go." I gave Amelia a soft smile then looked over at my parents and saw how much in love they were.

"Enjoying the party Ames?" Mr. Carbon came up to Amelia and I smiling he had been much more relaxed since Theo was born. But behind his gray eyes was hatred for Tex and hurt for the sudden loss of his daughter Kimberly that dreadful day the rebels took over.

"Mr. Carbon, can Aubery sleepover?" Amelia asked randomly.

"I don't have a problem with it but I'll run it by your parents first okay kiddo?" he patted Amelia's back lightly and smiled some more. I found Mr. Carbon like a fatherly figure as well I'd known him all my life and he was a one of those heroes the world needed.

"Aubery! You get to sleepover!" Amelia ran over to her overall best friend besides Melissa, who really was her bestest friend, and hugged her. Aubery was a year older then Amelia so really she was Tucker's age her sister Kimberly was Marlee and Malory's age. But right now Tucker was in the middle of talking to her when Amelia barged in like a ton of bricks. After Amelia and Aubery broke up their hug they ran up to Amelia's room leaving Tucker all by himself.
