I heard the faint mumbling of someone's voice and I want it to stop. My whole body ached I wanted to just lay where ever I was and die, if I wasn't already dead. My senses slowly came back to me the thick coppery taste of blood in my mouth registered. My breathing up until now felt like I wasn't breathing at all then oxygen became necessary and my breaths became heavy. I tried to remember what had happened then the memory of the chair hit me. Douglas, chair, electricity, death. Those words played through my head like a broken record over and over again. I saw Douglas's amused face as I begged for him to stop his torture. Then my smell came to me. The awful smell of smoke and ash clouded my nose and made my already pounding headache worse.

"Lacy." I made the out someone calling my name. I felt hands on my arms then a rush of oxygen filled my lungs. The strangers lips were pressed against mine they were breathing for me. As my hearing slowly came to me I also heard sirens and other voices around me.

"Lace please come back." I felt moisture on my cheek but it wasn't mine. I slowly raised my hands to feel who was in front of me. They crossed over someone's strong square jaw up passed their ears and rested on the back of their head feeling the prickly hairs glide across my palms.

"Ryan?" I whispered using all my strength on that one word.

"Always." I felt Ryan's lips press against mine but this time no oxygen came. I kissed him back wrapping my arms around the back of his neck. He started to get up taking me with him I pushed back my all the pain I was feeling just so Ryan could embrace me. As my hands dropped I felt his bare skin tracing his thick mussels with my fingertips. Tall grass grazed my legs and cool damp soil felt like a pillow underneath my feet. Ryan lifted me off the ground spinning me and laughing with content.

"Where are we?" I asked opening my eyes and looking around, Ryan lowered me back to the ground.

"Gardens." at first I didn't believe him the over grown vines, moss covered benches and tall grass and weeds looked all unfamiliar to me. Then I started to see the beautiful roses, precised hedges, hand crafted benches and marble fountains once again.

"You carried me all the way here?" I asked staring at Ryan who was smiling and laughing overjoyed.

"Yep." his eyes sparkled at me.

"You are crazy Ryan Newson!" I laughed hitting Ryan's arm playfully.

"Only for you Lacy Gillia." he grabbed my hands pulling me into another embrace making me feel as if I was the only girl in the world at that very moment.

"Marry me." Ryan extended me at arms length and looked me dead in the eye.

"Ryan we're engaged remember?" I could feel my blush and even after four years since he seriously proposed to me the word engaged sounded alien to me.

"I know but I want to marry you right now right here." he stomped his foot down into the soft soil.

"Why do you want to marry me exactly?" I half teased him.

"Because you're beautiful, charming and so so sweet. I love you literally all my heart there isn't one part of me that has ever questioned my feelings for you. I want to marry you because I want to be with you I want you to know that I will never love anyone but you." Ryan was dead serious he waited for my response at first only stutters came out his short speech was better then his proposal.

"Ryan married or not my feelings won't change for you. I love you that's all that matters as long as we're together. As long as I wear this ring I will always love you and care for you. Vows will never change what we have so we can wait." I knew that my little speech wouldn't win him over so I wrapped my arms around his neck and this time I started the kiss.

"Okay, I guess we could wait."

"Good." I kissed him some more then he swooped me up like we really did just get married carrying me through the gardens. I probably looked like a mess since being electrocuted does have that effect on people, but Ryan looked like a god. His square jaw, prefect nose, brown eyes and short crisp blonde hair made him appear older then he was but in a good way.

"Lace your hands." Ryan stopped and set me down on a bench so he could look. I looked and noticed my fingers were shaking and my wrist was also twitching but I wasn't moving them. I looked at Ryan utterly confused and concerned. He gave me a look that made all my worrying go all my fear vanish I felt safe.

"Ryan-"

"Shh, it will be fine here let me carry you to the hospital." Ryan wrapped his arm around my neck and the other under my legs then picked me out with little effort. He carried me walking towards the hospital where I would be treated. I was very relaxed and felt safer then I had did in a long time then my twitching hands started to feel fuzzy and my headache got worse by the second. The numbness started from my fingertips crawling up my arms then down to my toes.

"Ryan I can't feel anything." he looked at me with concern lifting me closer to his chest. Then I started to see black spots like I had when I was back in the chair. Sounds started to fade, loud clear noises became muffled mumbles leaving me to guess what Ryan was telling me. My sight was blurring Ryan's face became a blurred shape with no features. I tried to talk but that was long gone so all I could do was smile just a bit reassuring Ryan that I was going to be fine and that if I was to go now I was glad he would be holding me as I did. Then it went black.

I was taken to a new world. One with no light but plenty of sounds it was frightening to hear voices but no speakers leaving me to wonder where I was. I was like a spirit in this new world I couldn't feel and it sounded as if no one knew I was listening. I listened trying to figure out my situation since I wouldn't be able to see where I was at least I could listen to the descriptions.

"I told you she's my sister!" I heard Ryan's strong voice but he sounded aggravated.

"And I told you Doctor Nellson is out today so you'll have to get a different doctor to check her." the voice of a unknown lady came to me she to sounded aggravated.

"It's Doctor Nellson or no one because he has her medication and knows how to apply it! I don't know how only she and Doctor Nellson!" Ryan got more and more aggravated.

"Well why is she in your arms unconscious if she does know how to apply her medication?"

"She forgot, I don't know but she could die! Get me Doctor Nellson." Ryan was trying not to yell I couldn't see him gritting his teeth but I could tell he was. Then I heard a loud bang as if someone had hit a desk or something.

"Sir I will ask you once more to calm down. I will page Doctor Nellson but he won't like it." the unknown lady, probably a nurse or secretary, gave in to Ryan's protests. My hearing faded at the paging of Doctor Nellson and I was now in just a black oblivion leaving me with that one conversation.
