A/N: Sorry I always start new stories before finishing the old ones, but I'm freaking OBSESSED with Kingdom Hearts and I HAD to make this story! My writers instinct was all like 'Well if I write this now then people might get mad cause I never finished my other stories.' but the 1/3 of my brain dedicated to Kingdom Hearts just said 'SUCK IT UP >:O' anyway this chapter is dedicated to Jesusfreaks cuz she pushed me to start writing this story. Hope u all like it :D
I've been having these weird thoughts lately...
Like, is any of this for real?
Or not?
I mouthed the words before they even appeared on the screen. I had played this game so many times that I knew every word of the intro by heart including the song. I let out a heavy sigh and rolled up my PS2 controller. I pressed and held the power button the on the console and watched it turn from green to red. I loved Kingdom Hearts, but I had definately outplayed it. I turned and looked at my alarm clock. It said 2:30,but I knew it was only 2:00. I needed to fix that sometime... I saw my laptop sitting temptingly on my bed. I went over and opened it. Immediately A kingdom hearts video with the song "Thanks for the Memories" began to play, continuing from when I had closed my laptop earlier. I hummed along to it as I went onto my skype. My friend Suzy was online and I sent her a message,
"Hey," I typed. A picture of a pencil appeared as she typed her response.
"What's up?"
"nm. Just about to get ready for your party :)"
"Okie. Just don't forget it's formal!"
"kk"
I set the video on a loop on my playlist so I could listen to it while I got ready. I slipped on my dress along with a pair of leggings. The dress was dark blue on top with a floral pattern on the skirt. I quickly ran a brush through my curly red hair and fixed my makeup, finishing right as James stuck his head into my room to tell me that it was time to go. I grabbed my cell phone and my invitation and put them into a little coin purse that could fit into my dress pocket without looking too dorky.
I climbed into the passenger seat of the car next to James. He glared at me. "You could strive to be a little faster next time." he snapped. James was my brother. He was all the family that I had since my parents died in a tornado. James hated me though. He always yelled at me and blamed me for everything. Sometimes he even hit me. I had several bruises on my arms from times when he had lost his temper. I hated him.
"I don't see the point in you putting on makeup," he sneered, "it just makes you look even more awful." I crossed my arms and stared out the window. I had learned to ignore that feeling of hurt that you get when you're made fun of.
The drive to Suzy's house seemed to last forever before James stopped in her driveway and practically pushed me out of the car. I stumbled and turned to glare at him, but he had already pulled out and was speeding down the street. I sighed and went up to the door. Before I could even knock, the door swung open. My friend Tim stood there and smiled at me.
"Hey, glad you could make it!" He said. His smile always made my day a little bit brighter. He took my hand and pulled me into the house. His face was suddenly serious. "Okay so here's what's going on right now. Suzy's neighbors are a bunch of butt holes and they keep shooting us with squirt guns and hoses."
"How old?" I asked, noticing that he did seem a bit damp.
"High school, definitely." He shook his head. "How immature."
"Did you shoot them back?"
"Of course!" He said, his smile returning. "So basically we're trying to teach them a lesson. We have a ton of water balloons already filled and some high pressure squirt guns full and pumped."
"So basically it's like war?"
"Yup," he nodded.
"Count me in!" I said, already coming up with a good battle strategy.
Several party-goers were dripping with water, their nice clothes probably ruined. They sat on the floor of Suzy's living room, wrapped in towels. I noticed my friend Julie, soaked from head to toe, in the corner.
"Hey Julie!" I called. She smiled and waved.
"Hey Kora." She said coming over to me and Tim. "You gonna fight?" She asked.
"Heck yeah!" I said putting my hands on my hips.
"Follow me," she said with a devious grin, "I have a plan."
We ended up going into the woods behind Suzy's house, equipped with water balloons and good squirt guns. We trekked through the trees until we were behind the neighbors' backyard. We could see them firing their own water ballons at guests. One kid screamed as a water balloon hit his head. "THERE WAS A FREAKING ROCK IN THAT ONE!" I saw blood well on his forehead. Now this was getting serious.
"Jerks," I murmured. Tim and Julie nodded. We crept around behind them, slowly and quietly working our way to the porch that they were launching their projectiles from. Then we were right behind them. Julie screamed "NOW!" and we bashed our ballons onto the back of the high schoolers' necks. They jumped in suprise, but then turned and aimed their balloons at us. They grinned evily as they launched them at us. I ducked and avoided a balloon that fell to the porch with a thunk. There were rocks in them!
Julie cried out in pain as a rock hit her in the arm. Now I was mad. I ran up to the high schoolers, dodging their rock filled balloons and when I was close enough I kicked one in the back. He wailed and fell to the ground. I had taken karate for a long time. I knew how to deal with bullies like these. They were suprised at my strength, but they just kept launching balloons at me and Tim. Julie had gone back to Suzy's house. Tim was dodging them just as expertly as I was. We were practically in sinc as we dodged balloons and threw anger-fueled punches at the bullies. There had only been three and we had made easy work of them. They retreated into their own house saying "man that chick is freakin strong!" and "that boy beat the crap outta me!". Me and Tim slapped high-fives and jumped over the porch railing. Everyone from the party was cheering. I recognized a bunch of people from my school. There was one person that caught my eye though. I'd never seen him before, but he looked kind of familiar. He had pale gray (most likely dyed) hair that draped over his left eye. His eyes were ice blue and the look in them reminded me of the glazed look you have after reading a long book for hours. He looked so familiar, but I just could place my finger on where I had seen him before...
