Axel's P.O.V.

I sat in my room and stared out the window at the empty sky. I was waiting for Demyx to come give me the signal. I reviewed the plan briefly in my head. When (and if) Demyx knocked three times on my door I was supposed to travel to the subjects' houses via dark corridor and take them to Hollow Bastion before Xemnas and his party came to get them. I let out a deep sigh. I felt the anxiety growing in my chest. Anxiety. Jeez.  A feeling that I definitely could have gone without. Having a heart had its ups and downs.

There was a knock on my door. I went over and opened it. Xigbar stood in my doorway.

"Hey Flamsilocks, Saix just wanted me to remind you to have those little subjects of yours at the check point by midnight."

"Don't worry. I have it all under control." I lied, trying not to meet his eyes. "Why is it that ol' Isa needs to check up on me anyway?"

Xigbar shrugged. "Ask 'im yourself." and with that he walked away. I was about to shut the door when I heard Demyx.

"Hey, this hallway's big enough! No need to push!" He whined. He walked up to my door, rubbing his arm.

"Is it time?" I said in a hushed voice.

"Nah, I just wanted to talk to you before we head out."

"What about?"

"I-I dunno if I really wanna do this..." I could see the nervously in his eyes. I felt a twinge of sympathy for him.

"So does that mean I'm on my own?" I sighed.

"No! I never said that! It's just..." His voice trailed off and he looked down at the floor. "I just don't want to betray the organization." He murmured.

"I get it, Demyx. You just don't want to help out the poor kids who are about to be kidnapped from their own world and taken here by Xemnas where they will endure torture beyond anything they could have ever imagined." I put on a smug face and turned around to go back into my room. I waved him off. "Go on then. You have to get Kora at the checkpoint for Xemnas don' you?"

Demyx opened his mouth to say something, but then closed it again. "Fine. I'll do it..." He said it so quietly that I almost couldn't hear it.

I smiled and gave him a pat on the back. "Shall we go now?" I asked.

"Yeah, It's about time." He said, still sounding rather distressed.

My smile melted away. "I'll meet you in Hollow Bastion."

He nodded and gave me a weak smile before being devoured by a dark corridor.

I sighed and was about to open my own corridor when I heard a voice behind me.

"So that's it! I knew you were planning something!" I whipped around, ready to summon my chackrams, only to see Larxene standing in my doorway.

"Larx, what are you doing here?" I asked casually.

"I was coming to see if you wanted to go up to the clock tower with me, but it looks like you already have plans." She turned away and the look of hurt on her face disarmed me for a moment.

"Larx, it's not like that," I said laying my hand on her shoulder.

"Then what is it Axel? I heard you and Demyx talking. You're going to betray the organization!"

"Guess I can't hide anything from you Larx," I shrugged, "Go ahead! Tell ol' Scarface my plans. By the time he tries to do something about it it'll be too late anyway." I tried to look as staid as I could.
