I sat in my cage, deep in thought. What was going on? What was this place? I decided to recount the events of the past few hours. How many had it been? maybe four or five? Well however many hours ago it was, I still remembered clearly how the weirdness had started. I had just been sitting in Kora's room, watching her play her Kingdom Hearts game, when suddenly a bunch of creepy people appeared in the room and grabbed us. I had screamed and kicked and even bitten the guy who was holding me, but he wouldn't let me go. Then Kora suddenly disappeared. I just screamed some more and tried to get out of the guy's grasp, asking, "What did you do with her!?" Of course they didn't answer me though. Then some strange dark wave came over us and when it went away I was in this dumb boring cage.
After that, I decided to try and figure out if I was dreaming or not. In retrospect, banging my head against a wall wasn't the best way to test that theory. I winced as I rubbed the huge bruise that was forming on my forehead. After that I basically just stared at the wall for an hour or two, mesmerized by its strange design. After that I stood up, leaning against the wall, and began to braid my hair.
Suddenly there was the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs.
Maybe it's someone who can tell me what the heck is gong on here.
I was desperately hoping that it was'nt one of those goons in the black coats, but of course to my luck it was. I went back to braiding my hair and pretended not to notice them until they came closer.
"Are you here to, like babysit me or something?" I sneered, "Make sure I don't escape?"
The boy just shook his head and to my surprise said, "I'm here to set you free."
My hopes began to rise, but I kept my expression serious and raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
The boy nodded and held a gloved hand out to me. I got up from the wall and cautiously walked over to him. "Who are you?" I asked him.
"My name's Daichi. Call me Dai." I could tell he was getting impatient now.
"Are you really gonna get me outta here..." I hesitated before saying his strange name, "Dai?"
He nodded again and reached his hand through the bars of the cage.
"Alright... ignoring the whole stranger danger rule here, but..." I gingerly reached out and grabbed his hand. Suddenly a flurry of bright green flames burst up around us. I screamed, but the boy just stood calmly. The flames completely surrounded us, before dying away.
When the flames had completely vanished, I found myself in a dark, kinda scary looking place. The floor and walls were made of stone and so was the ceiling high above. The air around was cold and the whole place had a musty scent to it.
"Where are we?" I asked the boy beside me.
"This is Maleficent's castle." he said. He had taken off his black robe and under it he wore a black bodysuit with red lines following the curves of his chest. He wore several purple belts along with a tattered piece of black cloth that hung down behind him, almost like a skirt with the front side cut off. On his feet he wore a pair of purple boots that went almost to his knees.
"Maleficent..." The name sounded familiar, but I couldn't seem to place my finger on where I'd heard it before. An old movie maybe? I brushed the thought aside. "So... why did you break me out of there?" I asked him. "Not that I don't appreciate it or anything."
"Maleficent ordered me to." he answered. "Now come on. I have to take you to her now." He began to walk away and, not wanting to be left alone, I followed.
