[Niall POV]
Lexi screaming at me kind of took me off guard and I stopped in my tracks. Only when my brain caught up to my feet and I started running again I couldn't see Lexi anywhere, maybe she went home a different way?
I walked back on myself back down the street toward Lexi's house and took a deep breath before walking up the drive and knocking on the door. She needs to accept my apology; I can't have her hate me. I may have only known her a short amount of time but there's just something about her that makes me want to keep her around, no matter how dangerous it could be for us both.
"Can I help you young man?" A woman appears in Lexi's doorway which I assume to be her mum.
"Oh hi, I was wondering if Lexi was home. I really need to talk to her," I ask hoping she went home another way and she is in.
"I'm sorry love but Lexi went to the shop about 20 minutes ago."
"Yeah I saw her and we had an argument then she ran off, I was hoping she might have come home. I really need to talk to her and apologise for everything but she just won't listen."
"Ahh you must be Niall," her mum guesses. "She's told me a little about you and what happened the other night, I can't say I'm happy about what happened but from what she's told me you are a troubled young man; but you do care for her."
"I do and I'm so sorry for what happened. I was just confused and I need to explain it to her, do you have any idea where she could be?" I ask hoping to find her still.
Her mum thinks for a second while I do some thinking of my own. I hope Lexi hasn't told her mum everything, like how I was there the night of Jasmine's murder and that I was the one who killed that guy.
"Ok, I think I might know where she may be and she'll probably kill me for telling you but I can tell how upset you are about this so I will tell you," Lexi's mum begins to explain where she thinks Lexi may be, it's a childhood place her and Jasmine spent a lot of time at and I know just where it is.
"Thank you. If she talks with me I'll make sure to bring her home after."
"Thank you Niall."
I wave goodbye to Lexi's mum and make my way quickly up the street in the direction of what used to be a park. It's all torn down and worn away now but some people still go here. I walk past the park in the direction of some high hedges and bushes, Lexi's mum told me there was an opening in a part of the hedges where Lexi and Jasmine used to climb through to get to a secret place of theirs.
Looking carefully at the hedges and bushes as I walk by them, I notice a small hole at the bottom of one of them and guess this must be it. I crouch down and just about squeeze through the tiny gap bringing me into a beautiful part of the park I never knew existed as it seems to be hidden by the large over grown greenery.
I glance around looking at blossoming flowers, tall trees and a small stream leading up to a little pond full of crystal clear water. It's then I notice a figure walking bare foot in the stream, their blonde hair blowing in the wind, Lexi!
Quick on my feet I half walk, half run over hoping not to spook her. When I'm in hearing rage I call out but she doesn't turn. I step a bit closer and call again.
"I know it's you Niall, what are you doing here? How did you find me?"
"I knocked at your house and your mum told me this is probably where you'd go. I want to apologise Lex and I want you to listen. I don't like arguing, especially with you," I say honestly.
"That bitch, she shouldn't have told you I was here. This was our place, mine and Jasmines'."
"I don't want to intrude, I just want to talk. Let me talk to you and then I'll leave I promise," I suggest and Lexi nods hesitantly as she takes a seat next to the pond with her feet dipping inside.
I step over the stream and walk over to Lexi; I hesitate at first but take a seat next to her. She doesn't face me though; instead she looks out at the trees and flowers.
"Lexi I truly am sorry for how I behaved the other night after we, you know. I just don't want you getting hurt, you've already been through so much loosing Jasmine the way you did. I know what I did was a dick move."
"You got that right," she interrupts giving me a dirty look but I continue to talk.
"But I am soo sorry; I want to make it up to you. Prove I'm not like that, I'm not like those guys who sleep with girls and then they never hear from them again. I'm just worried bringing you into my world that you're going to get hurt."
"You keep saying this but the only thing that's hurt me so far is you. Niall I don't know what to think, I don't know if I can trust you anymore," she explains and I nod, I know what she means and I'm just going to have to work at getting that trust back.
"Then let me earn it. Let me earn your trust back. I can sit here and apologise all night and you probably won't believe me but if you let me make it up to you. Let me prove I'm not that guy."
"Ok."
"Ok?"
"I said Ok, I will give you one more chance to prove you're not a dickbag. If you blow it this time then that's it, you're gone from my life," Lexi explains with a half smile.
"Deal, now are you going to let me walk you home? I told your mum if I found you I would take you back." Lexi nods so I get up off the floor and hold out my hand, she takes my hand letting me help her up.
I follow Lexi's lead as she leaves the park the way I came in and soon we're back on the street heading in the direction of her house. I can feel there's still some tension between us but I hope soon we can get passed that and become friends, or something more. I'm still not even sure what I want from this but I know I want her in my life.
