"Ugh it it already time to get up?" I groan while shutting off the alarm and looking over to my left, where Eve usually is, but she isn't there. And since I'm me I start to panic and look around for her, until I find her in the kitchen making breakfast. "This is new." I said while sneaking up behind her and hugging her. "I decided to try it out." She said with a smirk because she knew she was doing a good job. "Stop being so full of yourself." I said jokingly as I went to go wake up Evan.
We all ate breakfast then got dressed. "Don't forget I have the suspension thing for a few days." I reminded while rolling my eyes because honestly who gives a fuck? I beat his ass and looked good while doing it so... "yeah I know, and to stay out of empty halls. Ya know sometimes I listen." Eve stated with a laugh. I just shook my head in response while looking at the ground.
"Okay Evan lets go." I say while hurrying him out the door. "How long are we gonna be here for?" Evan asked me quietly so he didn't offend Eve. He may only be in second grade but he still has manners. Surprisingly. "I don't know. But we will figure this out." I say while fixing his hair that's sticking up. He just looked at the ground. I feel so bad for Evan right now. There isn't anything I can do about it, not only did his mom die but so did mine. If I could go back in time and prevent her from going into that fucking coma; or from being such a dumbass and not realizing that she had cancer. She hid it well, a little too well. If I would've figured out she had cancer I wouldn't have let her go out to have drinks, I would've had her with a doctor. Maybe she would be alive if I wasn't such a fucking idiot. This is my fault. Its not like Evan could've figured it out. He probably didn't even know what cancer is before this.
My thoughts were disturbed by Eve shaking me because I wasn't answering a question she was apparently asking. "Sorry I was thinking about something." I mumbled. "I know. You need to stop thinking that what happened to your mom was your fault. Even if you'd known you wouldn't have been able to stop her from going somewhere. She's was an adult, she could pick and choose where she wanted to go and nobody could've tell her different babe." Eve said sympathetically and grabbing my hand. "How did you know that I was thinking about that?" I ask a little freaked out yet a little relieved. "Your face said it all. Its easy for me to read you."
We dropped Evan off and got to our school. I walked Eve to her first hour and headed to the office.
"Hey bitch." I hear from a distance and just keep walking. I get to the office doors and someone slipped in front of me. Dustin; one of Jakes friends. "What?" I ask sassily, because it's me what do you expect? "I called you back there." He said with a stupid smirk on his face (which doesn't do him any justice because he just looks like an idiot.) "Listen do I get bonus points if I care or something? If so 'oh my god I'm so offended!'" I said in a basic white girl voice because why the fuck not. "Miss Sanchez your area is set up." The office lady said while motioning me to the table. "If you'd excuse me I have to go." I say while pushing him out of the way and watching his jaw drop. Mission accomplished, good job Ski.
The next few days basically went the same way, besides for the Dustin thing. He didn't come to talk to me, which is kinda sad because I enjoyed that little chat.

~one week later~

I'm finally out of the suspension and can be with Eve in classes. We did the regular morning routine and went to school. Everything was normal. And I guess going after your ex boyfriend is pretty convenient if you're an antisocial prick like me because then people REALLY avoid you because they're scared shitless.
Its lunch now and it's pretty empty. I look at my phone and see a text message. This is new.

Nate: Hey babe uh there's a slight problem and I need your help. Severely. And like NOW.

Me: Okay where are you?? What room are you by or what hallway are you in????

Nate: South hall. Bring something to clean up blood up with. I don't care if you bring Eve or not.

"We gotta go to south hall. Now." I say while swinging my bag over my arm and grabbing Eves arm. "Oh okay." She says quickly. She doesn't even question it. Wow.

"Oh my god what the fuck did you do now?" I say while running up to Nate. "Well ya see I got i to a fight and lost. BUT HE HAD A KNIFE SO IT WASNT A FAIR FIGHT." He slurs because he's losing a lot of blood. He was stabbed in the side and needs to get to a hospital. Now. "Okay let's get out of here and get you to a hospital okay?" I say while trying to stay calm because I don't want him to freak out.

I wrapped my hoodie around his cut, and soon enough an ambulance came and all of us were in it, going to the hospital.

~a few hours later~

"Luckily he will be okay, it was kinda deep, but it's mainly just wide. He's definitely going to need stitches though." The doctor told me. "Alright. How long will he be here?" I ask stupidly because I know absolutely nothing about this stuff yet. "Five to seven days." He says. Great.
"Nate we are going to have to go get Evan. If you want we can come back, but it would be with Evan." I say. "Nah I'm fine go home. Get Evan and tell him I say hi. Okay?" He says all confident. "Okay." I say while getting out of the uncomfortable chair.
We got Evan and went straight home. We did our homework and I helped Evan with his like usual. Eve and I made dinner together, and after that we all went into our rooms and just chilled out until we fell asleep.
