Nate: Hey can you come get me?
Me: Uhm let me see if Eves mom can drive us to come get you.
Nate: Thank you sm. My parents got into it again and they both got drunk so I don't want the hospital to call them and then they drive while drunk.
Me: I get it. Shit happens. I'll be there give me 10.

"Hey Eve can you ask mom if we can go get Nate? He's getting discharged from the hospital." I said while grabbing our shoes. "Yep definitely." "HEY MOM CAN YOU GIVE US A RIDE TO THE HOSPITAL SO WE CAN GO GET SKIS FRIEND AND DROP HIM OFF?" Eve screamed which for some reason scared me because I knew she was going to do it, she does it all the time. "Yes hun I was right down the hall you didn't need to scream." Mom said calmly while chuckling and walking into Eves room. "I know but whatever chance I have to scream I take." She said so confidently, but her mom just walked away shaking her head.
Eve Evan and I sat in the back together so we could put Nate in the front seat. Her mom doesn't know we're dating yet and it's probably best that we don't tell her because that could probably get Evan and I kicked out of the house. I put my head on Eves shoulder and started thinking about the short time Nate has been in the hospital. Something isn't right. So I told mom and Evan to wait in the car while Eve and I run up to his room to help him and if he had anything to bring home.
I walk up to the receptionist and politely say "We are here to help Nate Richington he texted me saying he's getting discharged. We're his ride." "Uh Nate Richington already left.. with his parents. Who are you?" The lady said with clearly no care at all. "My apologies I didn't see his last text he sent me." I said and walked away. "This isn't good" I whisper in Eves ear which worried her. "Why? Is everything okay at his house?" She whispers back. "Both of his parents are drunk right now because they were fighting. What if they get into an accident?" This is when I started to panic. Eve could tell so she got Nate's number out of my phone and called him off hers.
Nate: Hello?
Eve: Hey it's Eve. When did your parents pick you up?
Nate: A few minutes ago. But it's fine I'm driving and you're on speaker.
Eve: Are you sure it's okay for you to drive?
Nate: Yes it's fine Eve. And tell Ski that I say hi
Eve: Okay I'll let you go drive safe.

"He says hi" Eve said in a rather disgusted tone. I'll ask when we get home. "Oh okay." I said in response and it was completely silent for the rest of the ride home. We all got into the house and since it was rather late I tucked Evan into bed and Eve and I went to her room. "Hey babe you okay? You sounded upset after you hung up with Nate." I said while grabbing her hands. "Should I be worried about you and Nate? Like you guys seem to be VERY close and you guys tend to do anything and everything together." She definitely did a great job on emphasizing on "very" by one screaming it and by two pulling her hand out of mine and walking away. "Baby you don't have to worry about him. He's just one of my really good friends. He went through a lot of rough patches with me and he knew my mom as if she was a second mother. But if you want me to tone it down with him I will. I don't want to upset you in anyway." I said while going after her trying to see if she was really okay. But she wasn't.
