A Lyrical Disaster

Background

Loki, one of our local fervent pranksters in the tower, put a spell on Bucky making it so he can only speak in song lyrics.. Of course Loki just HAD to do it on the day our favorite Buckaroo asks out dear Stevie. (Also I would just like to add, you could hear his signature eheheheheh after he cast the spell)

No POV

"God help me." Bucky muttered, singing to himself, sitting in one of the many lounges littered throughout the Tower.

"You raaaang?" Tony asked in a sing song voice, strutting in conveniently (as he tends to do).

"Can't speak. I just sing. Help me."

"Oh so you want my help. It'll come at a price." He states.

"Price to pay?"

"We'll figure it out later. JARVIS write down that our favorite frosty warrior has an I.O.U for me."

"Right away, sir." The calm AI's voice responds.

Vigorously writing something down about the interaction with Loki earlier, Tony peered over his shoulder. "Well I'll be.. You're not as dumb as you seem, Barnes." You see, writing is not verbal speaking, though it does speak in another way. Therefore he doesn't have to write in lyrics, he really is quite ingenious.

After running every test Tony can think of, he shoves Bucky out the lab doors while saying, "Eh can't do anything. Probably have to wait till the spell wears off. GOOD LUCK." Wiping imaginary dust off his hands and chuckling to himself, he gets back to important work. AKA getting JARVIS to pull up video feed of what Bucky is doing, and snacks because there is no way he is missing this comedy gold mine.

Bucky walked into the Avengers lounge, sitting adjacent of Steve.

"It must be nice.." Bucky murmured, thinking about how some people can just ask out another on a whim.

"Hmm, what did you say? Didn't catch it." Steve questions, looking up from where he was sketching his best friend, unbeknownst to Bucky.

"I'm sorry to say if I need you, but I don't care, I'm not scared of love, 'cause when I'm not with you I'm weaker, is that so wrong? Is it so wrong, that you make me strong? Baby be mine?"

"Did you just.. sing a one direction song to ask me out?" Steve asks, a lightness spreading over his features.

"what can I say except you're welcome."

"Well I say yes, James Buchanan Barnes, I will gladly be yours." He replies, his pearly white grin widening.

"Let me kiss you."

"Did you even have to ask?" Steve says chuckling. Flipping his journal shut and placing it on the end table, Steve leans over, pressing his lips against Bucky's soft, gentle ones.

  ~~~Meanwhile in Tony's Lab~~~

Popcorn crashing to the ground, Tony shakily whispers "My otp.."

Bruce walking over picks up the popcorn and looks at Tony. "Whats up-" his concerned words get cut off from the sound of the popcorn rocketing down again. Gasping, Bruce too whispers "My otp.."
