Do You Want To Lay With Me?

"Okay, I'll get you a sleeping bag." Gerard says, leaving just me and Mikey in the room.

"So why are you in New Jersey if your parents and family are in Pennsylvania?" Mikey asks. I don't know if I should tell him. 

"Mikey, it's really personal. If I end up staying near here, I'm sure you'll find out." I say, and he nods his head. Gerard walks back in with a sleeping bag and pillow in hand. 

"Here, Skylar, you might wanna sleep up here. If our dad comes home, I don;t think he'll want someone he doesn't know sleeping on his couch." Gerard says, handing me the stuff. 

"Gerard, you don't have to do this." I say. He really doesn't. 

"Yes, I do. You're not feeling alone tonight."

 (A few hours later) 

"Ok, well, I'm tired, Gerard." I say, while yawning. 

"Same." I grab my bag, and go to the bathroom to change. I change into a grey t-shirt and black sweat pants. I walk back to Gerard's room, and he has the sleeping bag rolled out on the floor. I look up at his bed, and he is already asleep. I get inside the sleeping bag, and close my eyes.

(In a dream)

"SKYLAR! WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE?" My dad yells

"There's som-" 

"GET OUT!" He yells. He punches me directly in the eye, and starts to unbuckle his belt. Oh god.

"Dad, there's someone her-"

"Shut up, Skylar." My mom says from her bed. My dad whips me repeatedly with the belt. He finally stops, and throws back his fist, getting ready to punch me.

"Nononononononononononononononono" I say repeatedly. He starts to throw the punch, and I scream.

(Dream over)

I wake up screaming. Someone- probably Gerard- keeps on telling me it was just a dream. I finally stop screaming.

"It's okay. It was just a dream, Skylar," Gerard says while running his hands through my hair.

"I know, Gerard." I say. 

"Do you want to lay with me?" He asks.

"Yeah." We stand up and lay in his bed, his arm thrown across my chest. A soft snore escapes Gerard's lips. I think I may have found someone. Someone that won't hurt me.
