A Miraculous Tail

CHAPTER 1

Chapter 1: A/N: If you have already watched Mermaid Melody, and wish to skip this part, you may do so. You can start reading on the third chapter, as that is where the mash-up begins. For those who haven't watched Mermaid Melody, I recommend you start from the beginning. Also, due to some reasons, the Pink Pearl Mermaid Princess will switch kingdom location with Green Pearl Mermaid Princess.

"Promise me you guys will be fine?" Marinette, the pink pearl Mermaid Princess of the North Atlantic Ocean, said gently to the other mermaids, as she swam closer to the ocean surface, with Hippo following closely behind.

"Don't worry about us. You, stay safe." They replied, as they watched Marinette slowly disappear. Every one was worried as darkness was starting to spread in the ocean, which was why Marinette was escaping.

MARINETTE'S P.O.V (Point Of View)

'I am so scared of leaving everyone behind! I hope that everyone in my kingdom will stay safe. I wonder who I am going to meet in the human world. What if I meet the one meant for me? What am I thinking? I shouldn't be thinking about finding love when my kingdom is in danger."

"Mari! Watch where you're swimming!" Hippo warned,"You're about to slam into a rock!"

"OUCH!" Well, I guess the warning came too late, because before I knew it, I slammed face first into a massive rock.

"HIPPO! You could've warned me earlier!" I whined, as I rub my nose that was beginning to get a bruise.

"Never mind that, we have reached the surface!" Hippo cheered.

I looked up and nodded my head in agreement.

  Hippo and I made our way onto a rock and plopped down in exhaustion.

"Oh wait! Marinette!" Hippo shouted.

"what?'"

"That form won't do in this world." Hippo told me.

"Oh, you're right." In a flash of light, my tail disappeared and got replaced by legs,"Now, let's go."  "Marinette you have to make sure that you don't touch water, otherwise you'll be transformed into a mermaid" Hippo warned me. " Yeah, yeah I'll be fine."

Soon enough, Marinette had reached her mum's good friend, Nikora's, hotel.

"Hi Nikora!" Marinette greeted with a happy smile.

"Marinette! I'm meant to be your sister in this world!"

"Oh, sorry. Hi sis." Marinette repeated, correcting herself while doing so.

"Good, now. Haven't we decided that you're gonna help out with the work?" Nikora questioned, while looking sternly at Marinette.

" Umm, we did?" Marinette said, with a puzzled look on her face. "I mean, of course we did." Marinette quickly changed her answer after she saw Nikora's disapproving glare.

"Good. Now let's get to it."

MARINETTE'S P.O.V

One thing was for sure, I cannot do anything properly without breaking anything or hurting myself.

"Good job Marinette!" Nikora sighed after I had created more of a mess for poor Nikora to clean up due to my clumsiness, the look of defeat on her pale face. "You can take a bath now."

"Really!?" I said excitedly as I my face lit up full of joy.

"Yeah. Big sister has her nice moments as well." Nikora joked, while giving a little laugh and looking at her surrounding determined to clean up and fix anything I may have broke by accident.

I gave her an apology as guiltiness took over me.

'Can't be helped.' She shrugged as she got to work.

I smiled back at her and rushed to the bath that I had been craving for.

NARRATOR'S P.O.V

I hoist myself up onto the bed. The material was soft and I easily sunk into it. There were foreign objects scattered around the room. The bed was comfortable but it was cold, unlike the giant clam I slept in, back at home. The room was quite small and felt slightly suffocating. The air felt different to water, making it more harder to balance with the force of  gravity pulling me down, making my body feel heavier and exhausting me.

I missed my home.
I missed the ocean.
I missed being a mermaid.

I shook away the lingering feelings of homesickness as the booming of Nikora's footsteps neared closer to my room.

"You have school tomorrow."

"What's school?"

"It's where 'humans' go to learn and study."

"Don't they stay home and study...like normal? And why are we living in a box?"

"A what?"

Beep. Beep! BEEP!

"AHHHH! What is this thing!" I squealed as the horrendous noise pierced my ears, fear bubbled in my stomach as nausea began to form in my mouth.

Nikora must have heard my screams as she sprints into my room with panic written all over her face.

"Marinette, that is an alarm clock." Nikora sighed while turning the foreign object off, stopping it's screeching.

"It's meant to wake you up to get ready for school. I even have your school uniform ready." She smiled while stuffing it into my hands.

I look down at the pieces of fabric. I ran my index finger along the fabric. They were hard and seemed uncomfortable. I stripped off my other clothings off as I slipped into the new ones.

-Time Skip-

They finally arrived, after getting lost 10 times due to Marinette reading the map the wrong way.

"Look Hippo! It's another Box!" Marinette exclaimed while pointing to the school. Hippo looked at her, confusion etched on his features, "Um, I mean, building."

They were walking towards to the school's entrance, when they saw sign. It said,

No pets/animals allowed.

"Hippo! You aren't meant to be here." Marinette said.

"I'm not a pet! I'm supposed to be looking after you!" Hippo protested while folding his arms.

"Well, then you're gonna have to hide." Marinette suggested while opening her bag and grabbing him.

'Woah...Marinette what are you doing?' His voice was muffled due to Marinette stuffing him in her bag. She uttered a quick apology as she zipped up now heavy bag and ran to the entrance, hopeful she was in time for her first class.

-Time Skip-

After the teacher dismissed the class to go to recess, a girl with blue hair, blue eyes, and a yellow star hair clip, motioned for Marinette to come.

"Hi! My name is Alya." she greeted with a warm smile.

"I'm Marinette."

They saw each others pendants, and both whisper shouted at the same time, " You're a Mermaid Princess!"

After discussing about why they had to leave their kingdoms, Alya introduced Marinette to everyone in their class. Marinette immediately liked everyone, except for Chloe Bourgeois and her best friend Sabrina Raincomprix, who were the class bullies and always got what they wanted.
