Chapter 8

Narrator's POV

"Pound it." Marinette and Chat noir both said in sync as if they have always been doing this.

Ivan ruturned to his normal self and had absolutely no idea what had happen.

"That was a lot of fun. Hope we can do it again soon" Chat Noir shouted as he leaped over a building as his transformation was about to ware off.

"I hope not too soon." Marinette thought.

Marinette found the object that the akuma had flown into. It was a scrunched up piece of paper.

It said: You can't even tell mylene that you like her.

Marinette's POV

"Poor Ivan." I thought.

I walked up to Ivan.

"Ivan, you should really tell Mylene how you feel." I said.

"Miss, how do you know my name."

I suddenly remembered that I wasn't Marinette.

"Umm......You know...Ummmm"

Before I could answer Alya started firing questions while taking a video of me.

I just stood up and started walking away.

"Wait, Atleast tell me your name."

I felt bad that I was ignoring her like that, so I answered.

"Ladybug, my name is Ladybug."

Alya seemed to be happy with my answer so I took the chance and jumped all the way to Nikora's hotel. I was actually starting to get the hang of how to use my yoyo.

Narrator's POV

Once Marinette had reached the doorstep. she detransformed (checking no one was there) into her usual form and went inside to greet Nikora and Hippo.

" Marinette, how was your swim." Hippo asked

"Swim?...Oh yeah swim. It was great."

Marinette had forgotten that she had told Hippo she was going for a swim.

"I heard that stoneheart has been defeated so everything is safe now."

Marinette just smiled.

Marinette went back to her room with a glass of water.

"Marinette, you're not human are you. I mean it isn't possible for humans to control water when they sing or own a talking penguin." asked a tiny voice. It was Tikki.

Marinette told Tikki how she was actually a mermaid princess and why she had to leave her home. She also told her how it can be risky for her to be Ladybug as she turns into a mermaid as soon as she touches water.

Marinette's POV

"Anyway, I have to figure out if I had actually controlled the water when I had sang." I thought ou loud.

I put the glass of water on my desk and tried to remember the tune I had sang during the fight.

Suddenly it came to my mind. I had to sing it while concentrating on the water.

I sang. The water had started moving. As soon as I had reached a high note the water froze solid.

"So it was me. I have to tell Nikora I can do things like this." I thought to myself.

"No Marinette you can't." said Tikki.

"Why?"

"If Nikora finds out that you did this in the form of Ladybug. She will be able to make out that you are Ladybug."

"You are right. But I still need to ask her." I pouted.

Narrator's POV

Marinette and Tikki took a while to think together.

"I know!" Marinette said, her frown turning into smile.

Marinette leapt down the stairs two at a time.

"Wait..God this girl." Tikki sighed.

Nikora was at the table trying to thinking whether to remodel the hotel or not.

"Nikora, can I ask you a question." Marinette asked.

"Of course Marinette." Nikora said while closing the menu card.

"Nikora, is it possible for a mermaid princess to controll water as she sings."

"Hmmmmmm......I have heard of a few legends before but I have never seen it with my own eyes. It might even just be a myth. Why do you ask?"

"I was just reading a book about mermaids that I found in the library, and it said that mermaid princesses can control water when they sing. I wasn't sure if it was true so I asked. It probably isn't though." Marinette said.
