Marinette's POV
The rest of the day was a breeze. The same boring classes and the same beady-eyed teachers. Alya was still hostile towards the new, peculiar girl after our first, rather unpleasant acquaintance.

I know that there is definitely more to the dark-haired girl than her murderous glares and the shunning of other students, which is why I have decided to be her friend.

This may be one of the toughest challenges I have to face but I, mighty Marinette shall conquer all.

I was snapped out of my thoughts by Alya who was looking at me with concern etched on her angel-like features as if I had lost it.

'You good?'

I nodded in reply as her signature smile returned to its place.

'You looked like you were going to conquer the world or something.' she laughed as she placed a hand on my shoulder while I continued stuffing my bag with books so I could finish off my homework that the teacher had mercilessly lashed out without giving a second thought. At least I had something to do tonight. Yay me.

After swinging the bone-crushing bag onto my poor back we walked near the exit of the building noticing a slight problem. Actually a very big problem.

It was raining.

'Alya what do we do?' I panicked. We didn't even have an umbrella. Even if we did there is only much it can do. Even the smallest drop water can transform us into mermaids.

'I guess we will just have to wait.' She shrugged as she pulled out a book from her bag she had recently started reading and had claimed that it was the best book in the world. Plonking down onto a bench near the exit. I leaned against the pole, staring at the little raindrops splashing into small puddles creating unintentional music that was calming.

My chain of thoughts was broken by a tap on the shoulder. I spun around expecting to see Alya's face when I was met with the devil, more commonly known as Adrien. I couldn't believe he had the nerve to talk to me. That insufferable, misogynistic, prickly.....pineapple. As they say, some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go.

I glared at him. He looked down in guilt, surprising really, I mean you wouldn't expect a devil to look guilty.

'That day... I was only trying to get the chewing gum off your seat' he started as he opened his umbrella. I looked up at him, searching his face for lies but I was only met with sincerity. 'I have never been to school before, so it's all really new to me.' He smiled as he handed his umbrella to me.

I looked at the umbrella and opened my mouth to reassure him I didn't need it when he stuffed it in my hands hastily and walked away, waving a quick farewell as his car pulled up on the road. I turned around to see a wide-eyed Alya smiling at me teasingly as I sighed.

'I ship it!' She yelled jumping up and down while I just shook my head glaring at her trying to get the idea out of her devious little head.

I was well aware that I wasn't going to hear the end of it.

'Marien....what do you think of that ship name?' She asked me excitedly.

'Um..what?'

'Yeah...you're right...it doesn't have a catch to it.' She said clearly not paying any attention to my words. She thought for a moment.

'I know! Adrienette. That's a great name!' She exclaimed.

'Adrienette! Adrienette! Adrienette forever!' She chanted while I sat in a corner embarrassed by my closest friend's antics.

After the rain had cleared up completely, Alya and I both went our own separate ways. I rushed home, in fear that it might start raining again.

As soon as I stepped inside the warm hotel I was greeted by an inquisition from Nikora and Hippo asking why I am so late. I calmly explained how it was raining so Alya and I waited for it to stop before walking home. Nikora shrugged and walked away while Hippo was still not convinced and then insisted to come to school with me the next day.

'Marinette, it can be dangerous for you to be alone. I am coming with you tomorrow.'

'What? No! I mean, you have so many things to do here with Nikora.'

It took an awfully long time to convince Hippo that I would be fine without him and promised to take good care of myself.

Hippo finally gave in and finally walked away with a defeat, giving me a final disapproving glance my way as I sighed a sigh of relief.

sauntered over to my room. Exhausted, I flumped down onto the chair in front of my desk, undetermined to do my homework. I made a mental note to myself that if I ever took up teaching, I would definitely be kinder to my students and not give a mountain load of homework.

After finishing my homework, I lay in bed as I remembered sweet memories of Adrien handing me an umbrella, even if I ended up not using it. One thing was for I sure...I had fallen inlove with Adrien Agreste.

A/N: I am really sorry I should really update more regularly. I'm going to try and update more. Also this quote, 'some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go' is by Oscar Wilde who was an Irish poet. Sorry again for the late update.
