Marinette's POV

I turned my head over as I winced in pain with the sound of the screeching alarm clock and beaming sunlight that had entered through my window. Tikki was a still asleep next to me, oblivious to the deafening sound. I slapped the alarm clock, stopping it's horrible sound as I dragged myself out of bed. My body refused to work, telling me it was too early to function. Ignoring it, I starting getting ready for the day. Tikki woke up just in time to fly into my bag before I left my small, cozy room.

I quickly greeted Nikora and Hippo, stuffing my face with toast in the most unladylike way as they both shook their heads in disapproval.

After shouting a quick farewell, I took off as I flung my bag on my shoulder.

In no time at all, I reached school. I took the stairs that lead to my class when I was greeted by familiar faces.

'Marinette!' Alya yelled, choking me with a hug.

'You seem happy today.' I chuckled, wondering why my friend was more hyper than usual.

'Hey Marinette, Alya,' A familiar voice started. We both turned around to see Nino and Adrien waving at us. I noticed a blush creeping up on my friend's pale face.

No way! She couldn't be....could she? She was shipping me with Adrien just yesterday....she couldn't have fallen for him..

'Hi,' I squeaked in reply as the bell rang signalling us to go to our class.

'Marinette! Why the long face?' Alya asked, concerned.

'It's hereditary.' I replied, not wanting to deal with her. I wasn't mad at her because she liked him...I was mad at her because..well she didn't tell me. I didn't understand why she did a big deal of shipping me with him yesterday.

'Mari?' She asked wanting an answer for my strange behaviour.

'Do you like him?'

'Well...kinda.' She said looking down as her face heated in embarrassment.

I stormed out of the classroom, leaving behind a flustered and confused Alya as she shouted for me, asking me to wait. I ignored her as I made my way to the rooftop terrace of the school to clear my mind.

Why couldn't she just tell me that we both liked the same person before?

I stopped in my track as I heard footsteps coming from the terrace. I heard muffled voices from the other side of the wall. I slowly leaned forward to see who was in the place where I come to clear my mind to see two familiar faces. Adrien and Lina.

They looked like they were having an intense conversation, judging by the look in their eyes. I cursed my luck as the wind was too loud only allowing me to hear small snippets of their conversation that when put together made no sense at all.

My eyes widened in shock as I saw Lina's face come down to his. I turned around, sprinting to the nearest bathroom as I blinked away tears.

I consoled myself, saying it was probably a misunderstanding. I stared up into the mirror, my tear-stained reflection looking back at me. I was pretty far....maybe they were doing something else.

I decided I would ask Adrien since Lina seems like she wouldn't really want to talk to me. I marched out of the bathroom, walking right into a hard chest.

'Oh hi Marinette, you okay.' The familiar voice of Adrien startled me as the scene of him kissing Lina entered my head.

'I-I umm...w-wanted to ask you something' I stuttered like a fool while he looked into my eyes in confusion. I had to ask him now. It's now or never.

'Yes?'

'Umm...did you manage to finish the history homework our teacher gave us?' I asked, ashamed I couldn't ask what I had intended to.

Seems like it's never then...

'No, I got slightly confused actually.' He smiled at me his charming smile while helping me up.

'Did you?'

'Umm..no' I replied just as the bell rang, signalling the end of lunch.

The bell rang to signal the end of school, causing students to hurry out of their classroom to enjoy the rest of the afternoon. I quickly packed my bag and ran out of the building, not giving a chance to Alya to talk as I ran to the beach knowing that Alya will probably go to Nikora's hotel to talk to me. I quickly texted Nikora, letting her know where I was before she starts to panic.

I ran to the soft sand, relishing the feel of it between my toes. I inhaled the scent of the sea as the cold breeze gently touched my face and went through my hair. I spun around and squealed in delight. I ran closer to the water and jumped in.  In a flash of pink light, my legs disappeared and a pink tail returned to its place. I hadn't swam in ages. I swam fast, wanting to forget everything and everyone.

I suddenly remembered that Tikki was still in my bag. I hastily swam back to the shore and slowly pushed away from the water, the sand scraping mercilessly against my soft skin as I realised that I can't walk with a tail. Thanking my lucky stars that I had packed a towel in my bag this morning, I continued to slowly drag my body along the empty beach. When I finally reached my overflowing bag, I unzipped it to allow an annoyed Tikki some freedom.

'Mari! Do you know how stuffy it is in your bag!'

I gave her an apologetic smile as I continued to dry myself. In a flash of light, my tail had been replaced by legs and I was clad in my school uniform.

She harrumphed as she crossed her arms, turning away from me.

'Sorry. Can I make it up to you with this?' I held up a box filled with chocolate cookies to her.

'Yes!' She exclaimed, forgetting her anger towards me in an instant as she gobbled up a cookie.

'Mari!' Yelled a familiar voice as Tikki grunted while popping back into the bag. I turned around to see my friend running to me. I felt bad for not telling her why I was behaving strangely earlier on. I shouldn't be surprised that I have competition when it comes to Adrien.

'We need to talk.' She panted as she stood in front of me but we were interrupted.

A flash of light as if it had been a strike of lightening. It thundered loudly as the sky went dark with clouds. An ice dragon created by dark magic shot up, out of the water sneering at us followed by the same strange woman who we had encountered quite a while ago

'Long time no see.' She scowled, crossing her arms arrogantly.

'Pink pearl voice!'

'Aqua pearl voice!'

A/N: For those who are miraculous fans, I know Alya isn't the type of girl who will blush at the sight of her crush but this is a mash up with Mermaid melody and I had to merge the personality of Hanon and Alya together which is why she acts like this.
