Chen dressed up casually and headed to Hongdae Station on cab.
He reached there right at 1 pm , and looked around to see if Eunji was already there.
She is a girl after all, I'll wait for few more minutes..
Half an hour had past already and Chen was starting to get nervous.
Have I been stood up? Or...did something happen to her?
Just as he was about to call her, a call came in from her
"Yobuseyo?"
"Jongdae sshi. Where are you? I've been waiting for half an hour? Have I been stood up or something?" Eunji asked
"What are you talking about? I've been here for half an hour too! Wait. Where are you?"
"I'm at the West Exit." Eunji replied
"And I'm at the East Exit."
"Jongdae shhi. Stay there. I'll be there in a minute"
Chen looked around, and was startled when someone patted his head from the back
"Seems like we wasted half an hour for nothing!" she said with a smile.
Chen took this moment to take a look at her from bottom to top.
Sneakers. Jeans. Shirt. And overcoat. Without her heels, she seemed a bit shorter but matched well for his height.
He definitely liked what he was seeing
"Ya, stop staring like that. You said casual, didn't you? Besides, this one is more 'me' than the ones you kept meeting in parties. If you don't like it, then I can't help it!" Eunji kept talking, as she was embarrassed by his scrutiny
"Who said anything about not liking it?" Chen's lips rose up, and Eunji looked up at him, surprised by the answer
"Well, as long as it's you I don't care if you dress in a sack.. Although I admit I will want to see you in those party dresses once in a while." He winked, earning a eye roll from Eunji
"I don't know where you get all those cheesy lines from. Well, I'd say you clean up pretty well too, Jongdae sshi." Eunji gave him a smile before adding. "Let's get going wherever we are going to!"
"Actually, I was just planning on walking around the street and see if we find something interesting to do. What do you think?"
"Cool. Let's go then."
They started walking down the street, enjoying the activities in the area. They stopped here and there to enjoy the street food, to watch street performances, etc.
After few hours, they reached a shop, outside which an event was taking place.
"Do you want to see what that is about?" Eunji nudged Chen
"Sure"
They headed to where the crowd was, and saw the event
"Couple Karaoke Contest." Eunji read it out loud
"Hmm, you did say you sang well. Do you want to try it out?" Chen asked
"So, you have confidence in your voice, huh?" Eunji raised her eyebrows
Chen just shrugged
The organizer approached them, sensing their interest.
"So, are you interested in this event? It is free event to promote the opening of karaoke bar. Why don't you try it out?" he asked
"So what is the prize?" Eunji asked
"Ah, if you score above 95 points in Karaoke machine, singing duet song, we will give you free ticket to the amusement park nearby." He explained
"Let's do it then!" Eunji turned to Chen, her eyes sparkling from the excitement
Without waiting, the organizer dragged them both to the stage before announcing
"Here~ We have our next couple! Please introduce yourselves.~" He handed them the mike
"Hello..I'm Jung Eunji."
"And I'm Kim Jongdae"
"So how long have you been dating?" the organizer asked
"Ah..Actually I'm not sure about that. We are on our first date, and this is like an experimental date. So I don't know if we are actually going out on not" Eunji replied cheekily, grinning at Chen, who frowned in reaction
"Aah~ I wish you luck! We have a perfect song for you both. 'Some' by Soyou and JungGigo! Here we go!"
The music started playing and when Chen started singing, Eunji along with the crowd got silenced. Eunji then joined in, and soon crowd was getting bigger. As they finished singing, they were given loud cheers with some even asking for encore
They both looked at each other and smiled
"Seems like we both weren't bluffing when we said we could sing." Chen murmured into Eunji's ear
"The score is......PERFECT 100!" The organizer announced
"I'd say this sounded better than the original song! Congratulations, you have won two tickets to the amusement park! I hope you make it official soon!" he added with a wink as he handed over the tickets
"Thank you! It was fun!" Eunji commented as she walked down the stairs with Chen following behind
Before they walked few steps, they were approached by few people claiming to be from some agencies
"Excuse me, are you both interested in joining entertainment agencies?" the man asked
Eunji and Chen looked at each other and burst out laughing
"We are sorry, but we are not interested" Chen said smoothly before guiding Eunji away from the crowd
"I promise you we can turn you into top singer!" the man had followed them
"Ahjusshi, we said we aren't interested."
The man was persistent though. He was following them from behind
"Hul..he's following us! Do you think he would still scout us if he saw us dancing?" Eunji joked and Chen chuckled
"Jongdae sshi. Follow me!" Eunji grabbed Chen's hand and started running until they reached the entrance of amusement park
They both were huffing and puffing
Eunji looked back and scanned the faces
"Seems like we lost him." She said after catching her breath
"Let's go in then!"
Eunji nodded in agreement as Chen handed his ticket to the worker to enter the amusement park.
