Tris could feel it. She was going to walk today or at least stand up. She was sick and tired of the little hospital room and the little bed. It had seemed comfy and safe at first, but now it seemed like a prison, containing her against her will. Tris wanted to break out. She could feel that today would be the day she would escape.

When the nurse came in to bring Tris her daily dose of water and saltine crackers, Tris instantly attacked her with her brilliant plan of escape.

"I would like to walk." Tris said. The nurse turned to her slowly, her expression confused.

"Excuse me?"

"Or stand. Either is fine." Tris cocked her head to the side and smiled a sly smile. "I'm certainly strong enough. Why ever not?" The nurse sputtered.

"Defiantly not! A weeks more bed rest and then you may walk." Tris groaned in response. The nurse left the room, her red converse shoes tapping on the cold floor. Tris growled in frustraion and balled her hands into fists. All fluid tubes had been taken out more then a week ago! Why couldn't she stand? She'd be fine. Maybe... Maybe she could do it on her own. Tris chuckled to herself. "Let's give it a try." Slowly but surely, Tris wheeled herself around so that her feet could dangle off the bed. She wiggled her toes and sighed. How good it felt, for them to finally be off the bed. After a few moments of relishing the moment, she layed her feet on the floor. Tris gathered all her strength in her legs and in her arms. Then with a heave and a grunt she was standing. She didn't feel wobbly when she took a few steps foward. She could walk! A rush of determination coursed through her. Maybe Tobias was in the lobby.

"How about we go check?" Tris shook her head as she giggled to herself about craziness. She was talking to herself. Again.

The halls were abandonded besides a few nurses who were deeply gossiping by the computer room, but Tris easily dodged them. The marble floor was icy aganist her feet, as they slapped on down the hallways. She was filled with delight when the door to the lobby finally came into few. Tris grasped the door handle. Hopefully he was in there. With that, she swung open the door and entered.
