It was very bright out. Tris spread her toes, apart and together, capturing grass between her toes. She was standing on a hill, looking down upon Abnegation housing. But there were no hills there. Tris decided she should check. Maybe something was wrong. Feelings of unease stirred inside her as she neared a familiar house. Her house. Before she entered her childhood home, she glanced down at herself to check if she looked decent. She was wearing the flowing gray dress she had taken off the day she had entered Dauntless. It was stained with the dust that had plummeted her when she had lept off the train, rolling into the pebbles, laughing alongside Christina. She opened the door to the home and clambered inside. The lights were on. A warm, careful voice called to her.
"Beatrice?" It called. Her old name, a fragment of her past.
"Is that you?" It was her mother, Tris realized with a jolt.
"Yes it's me!" Tris cried, not expecting her voice to work.
"Are you okay sweetie?" Her mother asked worriedly, her footsteps drawing nearer until she turned the corner. Tris's mother, her sweet loving mother, was standing in front of her.
"Am I dead?" Tris croaked, gaping at her mother. Her mother shook her head in alarm.
"Goodness no! I hope not. You're just.. Dreaming.. Healing." Her mother started to fade, dissolving with the house. Tris reached out to grab her hand, but her hand went right through her, like a ghost.
"Mom!" Tris sobbed.
"I'm still with you. I love you! Stay strong and alive. Please?"
"I will!" Tris sniffed. Her mother's please echoed in her ears as everything around her fell.

A/N: sorry, short chapter! (:
So, Tris is in a small coma, headaches and she seems.. Off-beat.. Hmm?
