She was known as Persephone
...Such a sweet and naive goddess.
A new name for a new life, she is now called
Josie Anne Dupree
Her life has been short, a mere twenty-two years have passed by since she came to be.
Like roses and sunflowers and lilies, she is beautiful, bright, and well loved. Of course, she is strong when the going gets tough and times become scary for her. Stubborn as a bull and quick like a cat, she can always come up with a plan on the spot when it matters most. Some people believe that there isn't a mean bone in her body, while there are those who have seen an internal darkness within her, burning like all consuming flames. She thinks highly of herself, but not enough to brag about it or flaunt it around. War is not her cup of tea, for she prefers to sit back and mediate an argument rather than draw a sword against a foe. Unlike her Greek counterpart, she is slow to grow jealous yet she yearns for independence and freedom from her mother who coddles her to her fury.
Unlike many of the goddesses, Persephone's new vessel wants to be a one man type of gal. She wants to figure out how many books she can read in a week, or how the leaves glide through the air in the fall. She loves drinking coffee in the morning and sitting by the window in a cafe, people watching. Gardens are well maintained on the roof of her apartment building, a mini world of her own full of roses, sometimes hydrangeas or tulips, it just depends on her mood. The brighter, the better, but she can sometimes yearn for the quiet darkness. Her favorite fruit to eat is pomegranates, especially the seeds. One of her rare pet peeves is loud, pushy people. She detests the smell of the city, that's why she grows flowers. Cheaters have given her pause in how to approach the idea of finding her true love. Aphrodite made her mad in her previous life, for she had a loving husband and she made him into a fool with Ares. That's another thing, Ares, with his rough hands and uncaring yells, frightens her. She could never understand how a beauty queen and a warrior made a perfect match. People stomping on her flowers will make her forget she is a lady and slap a dude.
Sired by Demeter and Zeus, the new Josie Anne Dupree shuts her parents out of her life because she doesn't want to go through that period of constant coddling and holding her back for fear of letting her live. Essentially, before Persephone came into this new life, she made sure her new vessel was kept in the dark of who her parents were, so Josie believes she is an orphan. This new life has given her the chance to find a way of making her own choices and her own mistakes. She earned a part time job for a time as a waitress, but couldn't take how awful mortals were to their servers. She is by all means well-to-do, with a small apartment and a friend who was so gracious to allow her to stay while she found a new job and got back on her feet. She loves this life, and would probably fight tooth and nail to keep it.
