Poppy is very scared of her abilities, for she doesn't know when to expect them or if she could be put in danger when they occur. She often gets called a klutz for being so clumsy due to stumbling over people and objects during her visions. Her tongue is fire and her heart is ice. She hides her fear behind rude, sarcastic comments and long, sullen silences consisting of death glares and tongue sticking outs. On occasion she shows that she is in fact a human being with a heart and not a witch who is bent on ruining the dreams of children and brewing potions in her basement. Closed off from anyone and everything to keep people safe, she acts one way but is feeling another thing entirely in brushing off comments, snapping at others, and lashing her tongue at men. Losing control over her life and the decisions she makes is hectic, for she doesn't have control over her power but she likes to be able to decide how she dresses and who she dates and the normal girly stuff...don't try to roast her on a spit, you'll starve if you think you can find an ounce or mercy in her to snack on. She's a train wreck with raccoon eyes and bloody lips from chewing away in nervous anticipation of things. She's too proud to ask for help and vehemently denies anyone who tries to assist her in her troubles. Love is fickle and she is blind to romance. Her perfect idea of a date is sitting on the hood of a car with a brown bag full of patty melts and whisky, though.

BACKSTORY
Five brothers along with one sister to share a room with is no fun, especially when it comes down to have three toothbrushes! She is not related by blood to any of these young men and woman, rather they all 'adopted' each other and teach their siblings what they know. Cassie can speak French fluently and is learning how to play the accordion from Michael, and Adrian and Sandler both compete in basketball tournaments. Cornelius is currently learning how to do long division in his head from the only other girl in the house, Rosemary. All of these people thrive in their own way and put food on the table, clothes on the backs of others, and protect one another to the end. Michael and Cornelius are the only ones who do not know who their biological parents are, with Sandler being the oldest at twenty-five, he is the 'father' of the coven of misfits. Rosemary is by far the most beautiful, with teakwood skin and chocolate brown eyes. Poppy likes to sleep a lot, so her name is derived from the plant that provides morphine. All seven cohorts have traveled to at least ten states, none of them being California. Poppy wants to believe that her real parents are good people and not a man and wife in jail for robbing a bank to buy unsavory items off of the street. She only took to drinking after the littlest of the clan, Patrick, was taken back by his real family and completely left them without a tear. Her sight is hard to use, for she feels guilty for looking for the lottery numbers that could make them all millionaires or searching for ways to break her parents out of prison. Do not break this little bubble of a life that she had constructed, the consequences would be deadly and she would not be one to be reasoned with.
