Personality Coraline is actually the more verbal one of the pair and she is more outgoing. Her sister is shy and innocent while Cora has done some wild things. Coretta has to be the most responsible person in her sister's life to keep her from going astray too many times. Both of them are neither naive nor unafraid of some challenges, but Coretta prefers to let her sister handle the sharp tongue and sarcasm. Coretta is basically the homemaker while Coraline is the homewrecker (just without being a mistress). Coraline is the eldest so she feels entitled to tell Coretta what to do, which her younger sister hates with a passion. If Coretta could, she would move into her own apartment but thanks to her shy nature, it's pretty hard to be alone. Coraline can keep herself in check but she's not perfect and slips up when she hunts for the right guy.

Backstory They did not start out as two girls in a new town, not at all. Coraline and Coretta were born wealthy only to be tricked into what they are as a cruel prank thanks to a woman who mixed Coretta up with her sister. Coraline slept with the woman's husband, and this of course caused hatred towards her, and yet even though the woman discovered she had tricked the wrong sister, she kept her broke and in need of financial help and did the same to Coraline for good measure just to let her know how bad she had screwed up. The girls hide out in the house out of shame and never leave unless absolutely mandatory, having to be careful of the people they let in. Coraline is more extroverted so she has sated the desires and can keep it in check, while Coretta hasn't even looked at a man the way a lustful creature would think to. It is all Coraline's fault for their status of never ending financial hardships and she has been trying to work her sister up to the point where she can be on her own and track down the woman and beg forgiveness. Neither their parents nor their other family members know of their whereabouts and they intend to keep it that way until this awful mess is fixed.

Coraline has a side job of a house painter. They both relieve the stress of work by doing puzzles or listening to music.
