The Cowgirl and the Pirate III. Kill Red Hair
Seth lounged in her seat at an old wooden desk, cowboy hat over her eyes and feet propped up on the desk in a lazy fashion, secretly trying her best not to nod off. She would give anything for a long nap right about now and a bottle of beer but she knew a client was making his way to her office right about now. The office was fairly bland, dimly lit and empty, apart from the desk, three chairs, a cabinet next to the desk containing an endless supply of vodka and beer, and finally a bookshelf mostly full off wanted posters, maps and a few old withering books.
Amy slept soundly in the room next door, probably holding on tight to the skull she always carried around like a teddy bear.
Seth did her best to keep her out of the shady business, but the incident with Captain Dice was an accident. The child was very sneaky when she wanted to be, and had tagged along with Seth on her mission to kill the Captain. However Amy was no ordinary child, she had a strange power deep within her that not even Seth was too informed on.
Seth’s eyes shot open as the soft sound of voices entered her ears from outside of the office. There was a hesitant knock at the door and Seth let out a barely audible sigh.
“Enter.” She said in a sharp yet quiet tone.
As two men entered Seth immediately picked up on how nervous the first one was. Beads of sweat trickled down his forehead and neck, and his hands shook slightly. The other was better at holding in his emotions, but he too was obviously wary of her.
Seth wasn’t fond of the lowlife scum she dealed and dealt with but it was the only life she knew. Her childhood hadn’t been the most comfortable and sheltered after all. Her life was now clients, money and survival. She didn’t have time to think about luxuries and friends.
Oh, I forgot to mention, the bounties that Seth actually accepts are not from the world government and are actually from shady dealers, gang members or just anyone who wishes someone dead. Hence the reason Seth has her own bounty of a fair price on her head, which she had only recently been given much to her disliking. And the reason why the bounties are never turned in to the government. However no one knew what Seth looked like. They all just assumed she was some no good assassin. They probably thought she was male too, but what did she care? All she needed was money, nothing else.
“P-pleased to make your acquaintance mis-“ the man froze as a dagger flew and embedded its self into the wall behind him, leaving a slither of a cut on the man’s cheek in its wake. Sweat ran down his neck as his eyes landed on the owner of the dagger. He was met with a half-hearted glare from piercing green eyes. He would’ve been swept up by the Seth’s radiant beauty had she not thrown the dagger and gave off the unwelcoming aura. His boss had said to be wary of her after all.
“Let’s skip the formalities and get down to business. I’d very much like to get this over with.” Seth said her voice layered in thick ice. The man gulped and nodded stiffly.
“O-of course.” His steps were unsure and hesitant as he went to sit down in one of the unoccupied chairs opposite Seth.
“So what’s the deal?” She questioned keeping an eye on the man’s body guard who had remained standing. She eyed the huge blade strapped to his back. He twitched upon noticing were Seth’s eye had landed on his weapon, a warning, that if she tried anything, he would spill her blood. She almost smirked at the thought of him even laying a hand on her. It was just shy of impossible.
