The Cowgirl and the Pirate IV. A blonde beauty and a black stallion

What had Seth gotten herself into? So she was a pirate hunter now? Fan bloody tastic!

The blonde growled in frustration and stood up from her desk. What was she going to do with Amy? There was absolutely no way she was going to take Amy with her on her job. Seth had let the little incident with Captain Dice slide but this time the young would be in danger, but who would look after her? Seth trusted no one. So who was going to look after Amy while Seth was away on a wild goose chase for god knows how long?

The matter was stressing the cowgirl much more than it should, so without a second thought she yanked the knife she had thrown earlier from the wall, sheathed it into her belt and stormed out to the stables to go clear her head.

Corr’s ears pricked at the sound of footsteps heading towards the stable. He rose his mighty midnight black head to see his owner. Seth.

Corr was no ordinary horse however. He was big, 19hh to be precise but that’s not what made him different. Corr was a capaill Uisce. A horse from the sea. A horse that was born in the sea.

Capaill Uisce were not friendly horses in the slightest, and it took at least ten grown men to capture one. That is if they didn’t get killed first. They were fearsome horses. Faster, bigger and stronger than any normal horse, and they would only have one rider through their whole lifetime.

Although Corr only allowed Seth to ride him, it didn’t mean he wasn’t difficult sometimes.

Seth entered the stables where Corr stood watching curiously. Seth made her way to the tack room but stopped in mid step. She’d changed her mind on saddling Corr up, instead she would rise bareback. She turned without hesitation and without warning leapt onto Corr’s back.

The stallion reared at the sudden movement.

“Steady Corr, shhh.” Seth calmed the wild beast slightly but still felt his tense muscles. Even if she and Corr knew each other better than anyone, the horse was still unpredictable, and no matter what there was no taming a capaill uisce completely.

Once Seth thought her horse what more controllable and sound, she urged him forward into a trot. Seth felt the thrum of excitement in Corr’s body as they left the secluded yard. She couldn’t let him get too excited otherwise even she wouldn’t be able to stop him then.

Seth didn’t need to tell Corr where to go, he knew all too well. The black stallion broke into a steady canter down towards the white sandy beach. The wind lashed at Seth’s blonde locks. She almost moaned at the cool breeze in the devastating heat.

The two reached the beach in no time and that was when Corr became just about uncontrollable, but Seth allowed it.

The stallion broke into a gallop, causing clouds of sand to fly up behind them. The wind became fiercer, almost knocking Seth’s hat off. She could feel power radiating off of Corr, she could feel his excitement and felt the sweet freedom of the run.

Their pulses sped up as Corr went faster and faster towards the town. Their hearts beat so fast in fact that Seth feared they would burst out of their chests, but she didn’t care if they did, as long as Corr kept on running. The two shared the familiar thrum of adrenaline.

This was one of those moments that Seth could smile and be herself. A grin pulled at her lips and she thought ‘fuck it!’ and let out a loud whoop as they sped off toward town.

Shanks and his crew made their way to the local tavern, which was possibly filled with bandits considering the island they were on.

However it wasn't as bad as he thought it might be. Once the crew had grabbed their drinks they had begun to party without a care in the world.

Once the crew had grabbed their drinks they had begun to party.

“So what are you doing here pirate?” Malakai asked once Shanks had learned the bartender’s name.

“Ah, I guess you could call it a vacation, and we were running low on supplies.” Shanks replied. Malakai gave the yonko an odd look.

“You’re a strange bunch of pirates. The last pirates that came here attacked us when we didn’t give them what they wanted for free. That was until Seth showed up and slaughtered them all.” Malakai explained with a thoughtful smile.

“Seth?”

“Yeah, she’s a cowgirl. She lives alone with her adopted sister Amy a few miles west of here. I wouldn’t go wondering around there though she’s not the friendliest person you’ll come across.” Malakai warned. “But you’d never believe that she would actually own a capaill uisce. Even if she did take on a whole pirate crew.”

Shanks choked on his drink and looked up at Malakai with a look of disbelief.

“What? You mean…” Shanks trailed off. Malakai nodded.

“Even so, even Seth has trouble with it sometimes. But those two have a stronger bond than anyone.”

Shanks didn’t know what to say. Sure he’d heard of the rare cases that people owned a capaill uisce, but he had never actually seen it.

“Ha, you’re in luck today mate!” Shanks gave Malakai a questionable look. “Here she is.” As if on cue the sound of thundering hooves reached the pirate captain’s ears. The moment he turned to the open door of the tavern his heart stopped. It was as if time had frozen for a short moment.

A flurry of golden locks under a cowboy hat entered Shanks vision, and a gigantic black beast of a horse thundered past the tavern in the blink of an eye.

Even as the moment had ended and time unfroze, Shanks still sat there with wide eyes. He was breathless and it took a minute for him to realise that the bartender was looking at him strangely. “You alright?”

Without a word Shanks slammed his drink back down onto the counter and shot out of the tavern in hopes to catch a glimpse of the blonde beauty and the black stallion.

C'mon guys every cowboy/girl's gotta have a horse right? So whats more suitable than a mythical horse from the ocean in a OP fanfic? In case you guys aren't too knowledgable about horses, 19hh is about 2 metres in height :) -Rikki
