Anna POV

When the bell rang, I was the last one out the door. Momma always told me that the best way to keep my powers hidden, was to blend in, and stay away from bad influences. I went to my new locker and grabbed my science textbook and notes. I was about to leave when a girl with platinum blonde hair came and opened the locker next to mine. She smiled at me.

"Hi my name's Elizabeth. But my friends just call me Elsa. What's your name?" She asked, sticking her hand out towards me.

I rolled my eyes and tried to focus. I did not need this girl pushing my buttons.

"Oh, not much of a talker are you?" She asked. I shook my head. "Well, how long have you gone here?"

"First year." I replied simply.

"So, are you a freshman?" Elsa asked.

"Yes. I used to live in DC." I said. "Now if you'd be so kind as to leave me alone, maybe this locker neighbor thing could work." I stated, briskly walking away from her.

Elsa POV

I was springing through the halls trying to escape the cruelty of that girl. She was so dark, creepy, hateful. It was awful. I was almost out of the hallway when I bumped into someone.

When I looked up, I saw his icy blue stare, and his blue arrow pin attached to his black leather jacket. He looked serious, yet adventurous and playful. He was absolutely...........

"Hey, you're Elizabeth Rogers, right?" He asked me.

"Yeah." I said dumbfounded. Then when I looked at him again, I realized, he was the guy from my dream. I swore to myself right then and there, if this was the boy destined to kill me, I'd never fall in love with him. (A/N 😭 It tortured me to write that.)

I quickly looked up and had a put a stone cold expression on my face.

"And you are?" I asked using the same tone that my new locker neighbor had used for me.

"Barton, Jack Barton at your service m'lady." He said, giving a witty bow. I rolled my eyes, this was the guy who would be the end of me?

"So what class do you have Elizabeth?" He asked when he straightened up.

"Home Economics." I stated plainly. He looked at his schedule and his face brightened.

"Me too! You wanna walk with me?" He asked joyfully. I reluctantly agreed and we started heading off the the creativity wing of the school.
