Some scars cut deeper than others. Mrs. Jetson knew that; a lot her life was based around that. And that what people did not know could not hurt them. Luckily for her, that had been true for her life so far. Something told her that she was going to stop being so lucky soon, but that was something that Mrs. Jetson could not afford to dwell on. Fortunately, she already had enough on her mind. There was nothing that could distract from she was currently think about.

Mr. and Mrs. Jetson had not spoken except for the essentials after Mrs. Jetson’s outburst. She did not regret saying that, only the repercussions that had presented themselves to her shortly afterwards. However, Mr. Jetson had spoken a single thing to Mrs. Jetson. It was the thing that had her so preoccupied right now.

Mr. Jetson had told her that they would be going to be able to see Domini soon. That simple sentence had brightened Mrs. Jetson’s entire week. She was finally going to see her child, her beloved daughter again.

But Mr. Jetson had not spoken to her after that, and that severely bothered her. But Mrs. Jetson knew that if she tried to speak to him, he would not respond to her. He, as well as her, needed time to mull over what  had just happened. If Mr. Jetson’s way was thinking over is silently, Mrs. Jetson was going to have to be okay with that. He had put up with Mrs. Jetson’s moods for a while, since Domini had disappeared; he deserved to have the same done with him, no matter how hard it was Mrs. Jetson to accommodate to that. She would learn how to.

Mrs. Jetson wondered what Domini would be like, how much she would have changed from the strong, bold girl that she was when she had been taken away from Mr. and Mrs. Jetson. She also hoped that Domini would forgive her and Mr. Jetson for being unable to do anything to help her when she was taken away. Mrs. Jetson knew that she would never forgive herself, and that Mr. Jetson probably felt the same way about the situation. It was just guilt that they would just have to get used to.

Mrs. Jetson wondered when she would be able to tell Mr. Jetson her secrets. She knew that he was hiding a lot from her, but she was doing the same to him. The only difference was that Mr. Jetson did not know that she was hiding anything from, whereas she knew that whatever he was hiding from her was big and very important.

Then again, hers was also. It might just be important in a different way.

Mr. Jetson could not suspect any of Mrs. Jetson’s secrets. If he did, then that meant that Mrs. Jetson had slipped up somehow. Letting Mr. Jetson know would put his life in danger, even more danger than he was already in! Because of the fact that Mrs. Jetson knew, Mr. Jetson and Domini’s life had been in danger since the time they had gotten married and since Domini was born. She knew that she would have to tell him sometime soon, especially since he was beginning to let her see another side of him. The one thing that Mrs. Jetson did not know was how to tell him.

How do you tell your husband that ever since you two met you have been putting him in danger, but that it was the only way to protect your family?

How do you tell your daughter that she is not alone, because there are more of her?

How do you tell your family that your daughter is probably one of the most important people in all of Utopia and its surrounding lands right now?

“We know it’s you, Aliyah.”

Those five words were haunting Aliyah’s head, leaving her unable to think or process anything else properly.

It was exactly what the letter from the Elders had read. Aliyah was beginning to regret her decision to read that letter. If she had not, her mind would not be as scrambled as it was right now because it was working in one-thousand different directions.
