So this weekend, I got the news that my great grandmother had passed away. This woman had survived two rounds of cancer, a few strokes, and was extremely fragile. The doctors did not try to resuscitate her in fear of harming her more. I was able to see her on Thursday night in the hospital. My younger cousins did not see her. They were afraid to.

Well, once I heard that she had passed, I cried and told my closest friends. One of them comforted me over text, and even offered to stay up all night with me one night due to my sickness. This morning, I told my band director about it.

"Dwelling on things will only hurt you more," is what he told me.

My hobbit of a band director doesn't want me to dwell on things. He has a point. He also said to try to occupy myself with things that will help me feel better. It's very hard to, and I only have a few classes with the friend that comforted me.

Things may or may not get better. My friend hopes everything will be alright soon. I apologize for ranting.
