THE NEXT MORNING

All of team Legion was on edge, especially Madison who was still itching for a fight. None of the others but her parents knew what she did after school yesterday. What Madison couldn't wait to see was Jaden's reaction. For a last minute plan a not so strategic person made it all went quite smoothly yesterday. They were all worried about the way she was acting, she was still sweet and caring, but cold now. While they all had to worry about the war that was to come, today was the day of the talent show, but with that event happening today they still couldn't relax. Mostly Madison who was going to perform in the talent show, albeit her act was far from now, she had awful stage fright. The only reason why she was doing this was because she wanted to sing a love song to Joseph. And as much as she wanted to change her song choice and also pull herself out of the competition, she couldn't and she was stuck in it.

"Hey, don't worry, you're not on until later." Eddie comforted a shaking Madison next to him by patting her back and she glanced at him, anxiously grinning but it faded as soon as she saw Jaden crying while passing her and the rest of Legion. The pyromaniac completely ignored them as she mourned the death of her parents constantly, although the cryomaniac had a small smirk plastered on her face after Jaden passed. She forced herself to hide it once her friends wanted to go and get food.

"Can we hurry up please? The Jane sisters are making their way over here." Nathaniel ushered Team Legion to hurry over to the food booths. "Calm down, we're not going to be fighting here anyway." Jeno said, just slightly tensed from the mention of their enemies. A fight happening was a possibility, but it was unlikely due to Jaden's state.

The food booths mostly had carnival food, unhealthy things, yet everyone enjoyed it nonetheless. Jeno has bumped into a familiar figure who turned around shortly after, making the light bearer frown in return. "Hey," Joseph greeted awkwardly which Jeno returned, only lowly, and started to ignore his presence. "Don't look." Leah and Haley simulate stated as they turned Madison's head away and brought her to the shaved ice booth. While those lots were dealing with their small situations, Ivan had caught sight of his cousin eating while spectating the band performing now on stage.

"I'll be right back, I need to speak with my cousin." Ivan notified his friends who let him go do so. The tall blond walked up to the other one and made him turn around. "We need to talk, now." He stated sternly and guided him over to an isolated area. "What is there to even talk about?" Asked his cousin, rudely.

"Why are you with the Phantom?! They are the bad guys here, not us, the Legion. You're dealing with people who want to end us, me, Brandan! And you're siding with them!" Yelled the angry pyro at the slightly taller blond who rolled his eyes in response. "Why are you so worried? You have all the power grandpa gave you!" Brandan glared down, making Ivan confused.

"What the hell are you even talking about?! All I got was fire, why the fuck are you complaining?! Huh? No tell me, enlighten me Brandan White! Grandma gave you the main elements, all of them!" Ivan hit the other in the chest with his index finger, causing him to back up. "You don't get it do you? What Grandpa did was—actually no why am I still talking to you? This is your problem! You figure it out on your own. Don't ask grandpa, cause he's dead! He's resting...I mean. Ask grandma." Brandan started to turn away but the pyro stopped him, his hand burning the other's shoulder.

"I'm not done talking to you." Stated Ivan whose eyes were starting to glow a bright red. "Well I am! Jaden and the others aren't the ones you need to worry about, it's me. I guess I can say the same for you, god stealer." And there Brandan left Ivan standing there for a couple minutes, utterly clueless about what his cousin spat about.
