"Come on Ky, one more block!" I laughed as Kylie panted beside me. I was more than aware of Kylie's preference for a nice, air conditioned gym, but she had been insistent upon spending as much time with me as possible, and so was joining me on my morning run.

"What are you, an undercover FBI training agent?" she huffed, while I laughed loudly as I waited for her to catch up with me.

"So out of breath and still so sassy," I mumbled while my best friend glared at me. I grinned at the Jenner as she slapped my ass before taking off, winking back at me while I ran to join her.

Kylie's mood visibly brightened as we approached my building. She swore she would never run with me again, and I nodded in response to my friend with a grin. Kylie was an amazing friend, throughout everything - both in Los Angeles and New York, she had stood by my side and been there for me; she did whatever it took to make sure I was living the best life I could.

"Honeys I'm home!" I called out jokingly as we let ourselves in. Zayn was making pancakes while Gigi ran to greet us, a plate full of food still in her hands. Kylie smirked at the older girl before swiftly stealing the pancakes - much to the blonde's horror. "Morning, gorgeous," I greeted with a smile, before I ruffled Zayn's messy hair. The blonde model smiled at me from across the room, pouring me a glass of orange juice.

"Hey!" he smiled back, "I was thinking today-"

"Actually babe, I think she was talking to me," Gigi corrected her boyfriend with a playful smirk. The singer gasped with wide eyes, almost burning his pancake as he glanced towards me for confirmation. He groaned as I shrugged, while his girlfriend giggled at the interaction.

Zayn pouted as he plated up some chocolate chip pancakes for himself. I laughed as the boy swatted my hand away, following my attempt to steal some of his breakfast with my fork. He exhaled dramatically, declaring quietly that he had the freedom to be petty if he wanted to.

"A man who cooks breakfast will always be sexy Z," I reassured my friend. "But you know that I just have a thing for models," I shrugged. Zayn tried and failed to hide his grin while I smiled back at the boy.

"LIKE KENDALL," Kylie called from the couch.

I straightened my blazer before taking a seat in the waiting lounge. The New York office for IMG Models was intimidating to say the least. I was here for an interview, the agency had an opening in a photography position and all of my friends had urged me to try.

"Gigi, stop fucking playing, I left the keys on the counter," the brunette besides me huffed. She seemed familiar, but I couldn't put a name to her face for the life of me. She smiled apologetically towards me as she put the phone down on whoever she had been talking to.

"Hadid?" I giggled jokingly. Zayn's Gigi was the only girl I had ever met with the name, but I was confident it hadn't been her. The brunette laughed and nodded back at me.

"That's me," she replied with a grin. I furrowed my brows in confusion. It then hit me that I didn't actually know the blonde model very well at all; if she had other siblings I wouldn't know. "Bella Hadid, it's nice to meet you," she smiled, her eyes twinkling as she spoke.

It clicked. I instantly remembered Dior's recent mascara campaign - Bella's face had been plastered on every street in New York for the past few months. I continued to talk to the older model while I waited to be called, feeling unusually shy under the brunette's flirtatious gaze.

My name sounded through the lounge's speakers, and I left the model with a smile. Not before she scrawled her number across my hand, however, drawing small hearts by her name.

Sat before the company's representative, I felt incredibly small as the woman flicked through my portfolio. She raised her eyebrows briefly, and I found myself getting lost in analysing every expression she made in the silent room.

"So," she began, and I snapped my head back up towards her. "Your work is good, and I don't doubt that you could excel in this job." she added, while I gave her a small, hopeful smile. She sighed, glancing at my appearance. "Why aren't you modelling for us?" she asked as though it was the most obvious suggestion in the world. I blushed, staring down at the table, before clearing my throat awkwardly.

"I just... feel more comfortable behind the camera," I admitted truthfully. She sighed again, muttering on about how it was a wasted opportunity. I nodded along as she ran over the role's requirements once again, before holding her gaze as she stopped, and stared at me silently.

"I'll give you the job," she smirked. I bit my lip to hold back a grin. "If, you agree to at least try modelling. I won't force it on you; I'll give you... a year." She shrugged nonchalantly. I stared back at her bewildered, while she merely laughed. "One shoot Miss L/N, that would be all."

I stared at the table, as though contemplating my decision. Truthfully, it seemed clear to me. I wanted the job; the impending photoshoot was just rather terrifying.

"Okay," I nodded. She reached out her hand to shake mine, blatantly smug. "But, the shoot is on my terms, with another model of my choice. It isn't any time soon - I choose when," I clarified. "Oh, and I won't be convinced into modelling permanently. I'm here as a well-paid photographer; I love my job," I re-iterated with a grin. She seemed surprised, but impressed none the less. Slowly, she began to nod along to my demands, and her hand remained available to shake.

"Welcome to IMG."
