Each side of the field.
Lined with men of ever race.
Every man prepared to fight for their own cause.
For Arguyas and Allura, the cause was peace. Most people don't start a war, only to end a war. In times like these a war was the only way to put an end to the individual who was causing the wars, violence and death.
Many had tried to reason with the coward kings son, tried to convince him the error of his ways, teach him the simplw principles of right from wrong. Nothing anyone ever said seemed to do much more than pounce off his thick skull and into the recesses of silence itself.
The last thing Arguyas wanted to do was kill his brother, but something had to be done about the endless death that seemed to plague all of Danfreel.
Money, Power, Land.
These three things were why people continued to die. The king wanted to conquer all of Danfreel and its territories, and nothing would stop him from carrying out his fathers work. There they stood, several thousand men facing each other, prepared to strike each other done for the sake of Danfreels fate.
The coward kings son, and his men stood in front of the GladeShire forge, preventing anyone from entering. Facing them were Arguyas and Allura and several thousand men LESS than the kings armies.
The numbers did not determine the outcome, for only those who fight for honor and peace will win the war.
With a loud sound from the war horns, the men charged one another in loud cries of determination. Clashing of metal on metal created a symphony that disturbed the wildlife.
As Arguyas army dwindled slowly, and all hope seemed lost, Allura let out a cry and clambered her Katana against her shield. In that moment each of the people who led their armies on Arguyas' behalf came walking out from the trees behind then along with a wagon full of the GladeShire weapons from the vault.
The kings jaw dropped in shock. "HOW!?" He cried out in anger as he watched the weapons he guarded being dispersed to the enemy.
"You were far too distracted trying to put an end to us. We managed to worm in a few of our best people to infiltrate the forge and take it over. Not only do we possess all of the ancient weapons, but a good number of our dark elf archers own the forge." She grinned.
In that moment flaming arrows rained from the sky hitting the kings army, taking out a good group of them. The rest of Allura and Arguyas men charged ahead, their confidence in victory restored.
Arguyas beamed with pride as he rushes forward with Allura by his side.
As the weapons of the forge clashed with their enemies a light spread across the field once more. Slowly the kings men began to drop their weapons and leave.
The kings face grew hot with rage. "WHERE ARE YOU GOING!? TRAITORS!!" He screamed in anger as he turned his attention toward Allura. In a full sprint he rushed towards her in a blind fury prepared to attack.
Arguyas jumped in front of her and began to fight with his brother. He hoped his weapon would make his brother forget his will to fight, but with no such luck.
They fought each other for what seemed like an eternity before Arguyas' brother dropped to his knees in exhaustion before Arguyas. "I cannot best you! You are by far the superior warrior...But I can not surrender until my fathers work is complete." He began between heavy breath.
"Kill me, so that I may tell my father in the further life that I fought and died to honor his memory." He held his arms out beside him and closed his eyes. Arguyas shook his head.
"I will not kill a man who does not die in a fight." He replies in a calm voice.
Arguyas brother looked up and in one swift movement impaled himself on Arguyas sword so no one would decide his fate but himself.
In that moment a sort of breath of relief swept over the land, the wind seemed to whistle in joy.
The war was over. The battle was won, the coward king and his son were finally gone.
With the passing of two generations, the third could step forward and take his rightful place on his throne and bring peace to the land of Danfreel once and for all.
