Aidan POV
"We're actually being all sneaky, like love ninjas!" Ali laughs, adjusting her new bright patterned hijab. "Does it-?"
"Ali, your hijab looks fine."
"It doesn't clash or anything."
"No it most certainly does not." I loop my arm through my best friend's.
"Did you hear?" A girl asks her friend as they stroll down the hall.
"Hear what Beck?" The other girl replies. We continue moving past the gym and music rooms.
"Isaac Daniels, you know the super hot senior, has been getting anonymous love letters."
"Aw, for how long?"
"Only since yesterday, but there's a rumor going around that it's Jesabelle Andrews."
I tune out the rest of their conversation. They can't be farther from the truth. Ali and I get to lunch within minutes. We plop down on our usual seats.
"Oh, my gosh. Okay Aidan I'm going to tell you something and you can't freak out."
"Um, Ali I'm already freaking out."
"Isaac is staring straight at you!"
I turn around and suddenly a pair of striking blue eyes meet my hazel ones. I didn't even know he had this lunch! My stomach does a backflip. My body freezes. He smiles dimples appearing on his cheeks. Isaac waves slightly. I attempt a smile but I know it could look more like a grimace. I wave back. His ears turn a deep shade of pink he lowers his head with a goofy grin on his face then turns towards Oliver. That just made my day!
Isaac POV
After lunch Oliver follows me to my locker.
"When are you ever going to talk to her?" He leans up against the locker to my right. I shrug my shoulders.
"I was going to, but now that I'm moving maybe I should just move on." I turn the dial until the door pops open. Another letter identical to the one from yesterday flutters to the ground. Before I can help it a grin wiggles its way onto my face.
"Whatcha got there?" Oliver asks.
"Nothing."
"It's another letter ain't it?"
I sigh. "Fine. Yes it is."
"Read it aloud." He's practically jumping at the idea.
"How oft when thou, my music, music play'st,
Upon that blessed wood whose motion sounds
With thy sweet fingers when thou gently sway'st
The wiry concord that mine ear confounds,
Do I envy those jacks that nimble leap,
To kiss the tender inward of thy hand,
Whilst my poor lips which should that harvest reap,
At the wood's boldness by thee blushing stand!
To be so tickled, they would change their state
And situation with those dancing chips,
O'er whom thy fingers walk with gentle gait,
Making dead wood more bless'd than living lips.
Since saucy jacks so happy are in this,
Give them thy fingers, me thy lips to kiss.
This yet again is the work of dear old Will, as you may guess I enjoy his works, I hope you do as well. I hope one day I may be able to hold or even kiss those hands of yours. And your lips as well, have a wonderful day. Until next time...
Yours forever and always,
Anonymous." I finished the letter with my ears steaming hot, my tan face tinted pink. Oliver looks at me starry eyed.
"Who is she?"
"I haven't the slightest idea."
"Well Orlando it looks like you have to wait for Rosalind to find you."
