The gray sky seeped fog over the earth, scraping through thick trees that ripped the flowing wind at the mercy of its clawed leaves. Debris scratched across the ground, crunching under the stray rocks that flung away from contact. Mud stained everything within contact in its blood, a hassle to remove that was no longer needed. Stumbling through the dead grass and broken twigs were injured vermin and strays that hadn't been captured for a meal just yet, but would die soon anyway. Nothing was meant to survive here.
It was eat or be eaten; kill or be sacrificed; believe or die. Religion had flooded everything, those who didn't drown in it soon fell into its trance. The infected believed that a holy messiah would be savior, that the world wasn't ridden with infections and insanity. Those who believed the world had gone mad were slaughtered and sent to hell.
The masses wept and whined throwing their dirty hands into the unforgiving sky as they listened to the sickness spouted into their deaf ears. Find the sinners, punish them, reap and reap and reap. Taint and tarnish, purify and worship. The earth was filthy, full of faithless, faceless, falsifiable fools. That is where death sludged across the land, disease spread throughout the air, damnation around every corner.
That is where Lady Luck called Home.
