i knew you once, and i've seen you before

how could i forget your smile that day? oh,

it was dark and cloudy, i was alone

the rain came, i then found an old cafe.

but you were there, and i stared for a while

i knew you once and i've seen you before

why did you care so much, to my wonder

you make me smile stupidly when i cried.

i didn't mean to, but i dreamed of you

i saw a mere dim lamp, a flame, and you

with a goofy grin, and tousled hair, you.

you asked if i was okay, i wasn't

so you ordered coffee and so much more-

and listened to my dumb, sad life stories.

i knew you once and i've seen you before.
