Kanae Part Two: The World Together Again

Chapter Seven: The Fate of Kanae and Sasuke

As I wake up I find Sasuke and Kenji fast asleep in chairs next to the medical bed. I slowly sit, my abdomen hurting from sealing away eight more Jorōgumos. I smile at the two men. Then turn to see the medical ninja Ski standing at a desk with his back facing everything. I stretch with a small moan that wakes up Sasuke.

Sasuke "your awake?" I look over to him with a smile. I feel strangely happy.

Kanae "yeah, did I wake you?"

Sasuke "no, how are you feeling?"

Kanae "a little sore, but I'll manage."

I move my arms, fingers, legs and toes. I'm still fully able.

Sasuke "you scared us sealing those things inside of you." Kenji wakes up.

Kenji "your awake. Sorry Sasuke came and found me. He thought that I would like to see how hard it is being a Ma-juu."

Sasuke "we'll if you're going to date her, you might as well learn the danger that comes along with it."

Kanae "your still mad at me?"

Sasuke "no, but you know how it can be when you get made Kanae. Your strong Kanae, you survived destroying the wall, you know also have eleven Jorōgumos inside of you. According to the past you should be dead."

Kenji "no way." He mumbles

Kanae "it's no be deal, really. I guess I'm just lucky" I smile

Kenji "you have to be more than lucky to live though all that."

Sasuke "Kanae, what is your plan now?"

Kanae "to gather the rest of the Jorōgumos."

Sasuke "when?"

Kanae "tomorrow" I say almost questioning it.

Sasuke "I'm coming with you."

Kenji "I'm coming too."

Sasuke "it will be too dangerous for you, we never know what we will encounter on missions like this."

Kenji "how dangerous can it be?"

Sasuke "one time, way before I met Kanae, I was on a mission. And there was this girl, and I mean she was beautiful, she couldn't have caused any harm to anyone. Well she invited me to her house and served tea, well she poisoned the tea, and if it wasn't for a team mate of mine I would have been dead."

Kanae "that was just you being stupid." I laughed "no, the most dangerous was back when I fought the Lord." I laugh "I think I was stabbed nearly five times that day. Was in the hospital for a full day until he found me and destroyed the place." Kenji sits there with his mouth half open. "he was strong for a dead guy."

Kenji "wait, what? You fought a dead guy?"

Kanae "yeah, he was revived in a way, by people using their magic to bring his back to this alive state."

Sasuke "I remember that. You protected me from one of his knifes."

Kanae "that was so long ago though. And now he is fully dead, so there isn't any way that we would run into him."

Sasuke "or is there. You never made sure he was fully dead."

Kanae "no, but I killed every single guard that contributed their magic to bring him back to life"

Kenji "how is that possible."

Kanae "from the fruit I ate."

Kanae "Kenji are you sure you want to go?"
