Airbus was founded originally as an consortium of European aviation firms formed to compete with American companies such as Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, and Lockheed. Airbus was founded by 5 men. Their names are Franz Josef Strauss, Roger Béteille, Felix Kracht, Henri Ziegler, and Bernard Lathière. These 5 men founded an aeronautics company that had lots of surprises in it waiting to come out.
