One of Airbus' ideas finally came to life. They created their first aircraft called the Airbus A300. The A300 was a wide body turbofan engine jet. The Speed of this aircraft is Mach 0.73 (or 897km/h). This aircraft was a two class configuration aircraft which meant that there was Economy and Business class but no first class. The aircraft first flew on this day. 2 years after the A300B2 first took flight it started getting used by airlines. There were over 50+ operators of the A300. Some of them such as American Airlines, Malaysian Airlines, Korean Air, etc. still fly today. A year later the A300B4 was created. Airbus did not sell that much aircraft at first. However, by 1979 over 80+ aircraft were being used. In 1983 the A300B4-600 (or A300-600) was created and started being used by Saudi Arabian Airlines.
In 1994, Airbus created an aircraft that looked so ridiculous it looked like it couldn't fly. This aircraft was called the Airbus A300-600ST (or Airbus Beluga). This huge freighter was created in 1994 and made it's first appearance in October 1995. This aircraft is still in service today. Airbus widely uses this aircraft for transporting some aircraft parts such as the wings or the debris.
