March 1984,

Airbus created a small aircraft which is widely used for budget airlines such as Eurowings. This aircraft is called the Airbus A320. The A320 is a narrow wide body jet airliner. The speed of the A320 is Mach 0.73 (or 903 km/h) making this aircraft faster than both the A300 and the A310 by 7 kilometers. This aircraft is another two class configuration and can accommodate 150 passengers. On February 22, 1987, the A320 first took flight and then was delivered to it's launch customer Air France in March 1988.

Airbus created their first derivative of the Airbus A320. This was called the Airbus A321. The speed of the A321 is mach 0.71 (or 871 km/h) making it the slower than all the other aircraft made by Airbus. Around the same time the Airbus A320 went into service the A321 was introduced. The A321 is a Two class configuration aircraft and it can accommodate 206 passengers. Some people refer to this aircraft as the stretched out A320 or the A320-500 or A325. The Primary users of this aircraft are American Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, and Turkish Airlines.
