my world is in black and white.
sometimes there's a crack of light that peaks through
but it quickly gets swallowed by the shadows.
i lie in bed at night
my head swimming with thoughts i don't know how to get rid of.
mind full of clouds and
eyes
forgetting how to stay dry.
my body aches
longing for a taste of radiance.
longing for something to shoulder the pain.
wishing for a touch peace.
unexpectedly, a gleaming being appears before me
blinding me
but i can't look away.
i hold my hand out to them, and they take it
filling my soul with warmth and comfort.
instantaneously, my world is no longer black and white.
my mind dances with thoughts of bliss and serenity.
burdens are lifted
off my back
and doubts
cease to exist.
your eyes search mine
and finally, i smile
knowing i have found my home.
