Y/N's POV
I walked around doing my duties on the main floors. I was a new doctor here, straight out of college. I studied hard to get here. My mom was the only person I had left. She was my everything. I tried my hardest to make money so I could support the two of us. The hospital I work at though has dorm rooms for us to stay in though. I don't get to see my mother often anymore.
When I would get paid I would send her half of my paycheck to make sure she could survive.
I was 19 and was happily accepted into this hospital. I heard my name being called. "Y/N!" I turned around to see one of the first friends I made here. His name was Dylan.
Dylan wasn't Korean but he spoke it and transferred here from overseas. He was the first person I met so we became friends quickly.
He caught up to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
"I haven't seen you in awhile, how are you doing?" He asked with a big smile.
I smiled back, "I'm doing good, but you saw me yesterday, how is that awhile?" I asked.
He pouted, "can I not miss my friend?" I laughed and he laughed too.
"I have to go check up on a patient now, but I'll see you at lunch?"
"Perfect, see you then!" Dylan said and off he went to go do his own work.
I got into the elevator and pressed 9. The doors closed and the elevator took me to the floor.
I was going to check in on one of my patients, Min Yoongi. He was 23 years old and he was in here for multiple reasons.
He suffered from not only extreme bipolar disorder, but also extreme depression and anxiety. He was very quiet. Not necessarily shy, just quiet.
He was pale and his hair was dyed a mint green color. He never really smiled. I've been watching him for about a week now but he has yet to open up to me.
Whenever I try to talk to him or ask him questions he doesn't answer. He just stares.
I try telling him about me to try to get him comfortable but nothing has seemed to work yet. But I liked a challenge.
He was a challenge but I knew I could do it. I wanted something harder. Someone who would take a lot of attention to help but in the end would be worth it.
My dream was to help these people. They aren't sick at all to me. I'm just a doctor who wanted to save them.
I walked down the hallway to room 912. I knocked on the door before entering. Yoongi was just sitting on the bed staring off into space.
"Hi Yoongi, how are you?" I asked.
He looked over at me but didn't say anything. It was a little awkward but I kept talking.
"Are you hungry? Do you need anything?"
We sat in silence again until I got the first answer ever. It was exciting. "No." He said. It was only one word but it meant the world to me.
"Okay, are you feeling fine?" I tried asking again. I only got a nod this time. It was still a response so I was taking it as progress.
"Well since you are doing okay, you know my name, so if you need anything just ask for me and I'll come see you." I smiled at him.
He was silent again. I patted his shoulder and the left the room. I didn't realize how long I spent in there.
I had spent a little over an hour in there. I just have been too excited to tell.
