Eli's POV
"I'm Ashton." she said, smiling and shaking my hand.
"I'm going to go get my bag from downstairs. I'll be right back." Kati said, heading towards the door.
"I have to go home. Mom just texted me." Abby said. "Bye guys. Nice meeting you Eli."
"Bye Abby, I'll hopefully see you soon." I said, waving and flashing a small smile.
Abby and Kati walk out together leaving me with Ashton. "So, uh, what's up?" I ask, attempting to start a conversation.
"Uh, working on new music for your sister." she said, showing me some lyrics.
"That's really good!" I said, giving her a small smile.
"Thanks." she said, smiling in response.
"The lyrics, they seem like they tell a story. Especially this line."ut I said, pointing to a line.
"I wrote it after my boyfriend and I broke up." Ashton said, looking down at her lap.
"Hey." I said, lifting her chin up so she's looking at me. "It'll be ok."
"Thanks Eli." she said, hugging me.
We just let go of each other just as Kati and Landon walk through the door. "Ok, show me what you got." Kati said, annoyed. She picked up beautiful Martin CS-00S-14. "Go on, play."
Landon carefully took the guitar in his hands and placed his hands on the neck of the guitar. He carefully began strumming a very familiar song, Wanted by Hunter.
"Stop, stop, stop." Kati said, stopping him halfway through the song.
"Did I not do something right?" he asked, placing the guitar back on the stand.
"No, you, you did amazing. From what you did on that song and what my dad has taught me, it sounded almost identical." Kati said, smiling.
"Wait, you're Kati Hayes right?" Landon asked. "The daughter of Hunter Hayes."
"That's me." she said, smiling.
"Uh, why don't we give them some alone time. Lets go downstairs." I whisper to Ashton, sneaking behind Kati and Landon unnoticed.
Kati's POV
"Uh, I'm sorry I was so rough on you before. I just want the best for my band." I said, apologizing.
"Hey, it's fine. I see where your coming from." Landon said, smiling. "So do you have any tours coming up?"
"Uh, yeah. My dad said whenever he goes on his next tour, he's going to take me and Eli." I explained.
"Your dad must be proud of you." Landon said.
"Uh, yeah I think he would be." I said, looking past Landon.
"What does that mean?" he asked. "Doesn't he tell you that he's proud of you?"
"Yeah Hunter tells me that all the time, but my real dad and mom." I started. "I, I haven't seen them since I was three."
"Wh-what happened to them?" he asked, moving closer. I take a step back before I respond.
"We were heading home after visiting Aunt Cassidy and Hunter. Our plane crashed. Me and Eli made it out with only a few cuts and bruises. But our parents, they weren't as lucky as us." I said, holding the tears back.
"Kati, I'm so sorry. I didn't know. I shouldn't have asked." he said, looking away.
"It's fine. It's just I haven't talked about it for a few years." I explained. "Do you wanna go find Eli and Ashton? I think they walked out when we walked in."
