Reader's POV (because writing in 2nd person isn't my favorite thing to do)

After Mom leaves, I decide to go to work at the coffee shop. I have the weekend off, but I need to distract myself. I need to keep my mind off of Yoongi for a while.

The coffee shop is only a few blocks away from my apartment, so I decide to walk.

As I walk at a slow, relaxed pace, I think about what Mother said. No matter how much I want to leave the past behind and move on, I can't. I have too many things on my mind- not just Yoongi, but the rest of Bangtan as well.

I worry for Namjoon. He's BTS' leader, after all. How will he handle this? I was so happy for him when he was finally able to come back to Korea to rest, but now he'll probably have to participate in endless interviews. He'll be attacked with questions and criticism.

I rub my forehead in frustration. I have to fight the urge to call him right now, because I know he's probably busy.

"What're you doing here?" Someone says. I look up and see that I have already reached the coffee shop. My boss, Krystal, is standing by the front door with her arms crossed.

"What're you doing here?" She asks again. "I thought you had the weekend off."

"I want-"

"Yah, yah, never mind." She rushes forward and pulls me by the arm into the shop. "Four employees didn't show up today. Only Mina is here." Out of the corner of my eye, I see Krystal roll her eyes when she mentions Mina's name. Mina doesn't really pay attention to her duties, especially when I'm working with her. She's always following me around asking about how things are going with Yoongi, but she has to whisper so that no one else will hear.

"You're at the cashier, Mina's serving." Krystal pushes me behind the front counter and rushes into the supply room.

Sighing, I put on an apron and take my place behind the cash register. There aren't even that many people in the cafe at the moment. There is an old man reading the newspaper with a cup of coffee, a middle-aged woman typing rapidly on her laptop, and two kids sharing a slice of tiramisu as their mother reads a home design magazine.

Mina is refilling the old man's cup of coffee. She spots me and waves frantically, almost dropping the jug of coffee. She hastily bows and apologizes to the old man before walking quickly towards me. As usual, her face is pink with excitement, and her hair is divided into two tight braids.

"Thank goodness you're here!" She breathes, slamming the coffee mug onto the counter. (The woman with the laptop looks up and glares at Mina) "Krystal was giving me hell for being the only employee here today. But it's not even my fault! Shouldn't she be happy that I actually showed up to work??!!"

"Well, you know Krystal." I reply absentmindedly. "She's never really in a good mood."

"Yeah, yeah, I know. By the way, how's Yoongi? Did you ask him if Jimin's single? Not that I care, I'm just a curious human-" Mina is interrupted by the crash of a plate. Both of us look up and see that the kids' plate of tiramisu has fallen to the floor, leaving a pile of broken white porcelain.

I sigh in relief under my breath. I don't feel like talking about Yoongi or anything related to BTS. Especially with Mina. She is a really nice girl, but the only thing she likes more than BTS is spreading rumors. The last thing I want to be is her source of BTS gossip.

"Unbelievable." Mina breathes, grabbing a mop from the supply room. "I'll get it, Y/N. You stay there and take orders."

As she sweeps up the mess, a tall, mysterious man enters the cafe. He is wearing a black cap and face mask. He keeps his head tilted downwards to hide his face.

"I'll have a medium latte, please." The man says in a voice I immediately recognize.

"Park Jimin?" I whisper, making sure Mina is out of range.

Park Jimin's POV

"Park Jimin?" The cashier lady in front of me whispers. I look up and bring my face mask down with my fingers.

It's Y/N, Yoongi's girlfriend.

She looks so pretty up close. The thought enters my head before I could stop it. I want to slap myself. Even though I am kind of angry with Yoongi at the moment, I still have respect for him and his love life.

"Oh. Hi." I say lamely, staring at the various cakes displayed to avoid eye contact. After what happened at the Bangtan house, it feels a bit awkward to run into Yoongi's girlfriend. I didn't even know she works here.

I hear a distant sigh in front of me. I look up again and see that Y/N is turned away from me, pouring milk into a jug.

After a few moments of awkward silence, she finishes my latte.

She looks into my eyes and gives me a tight smile. I shuffle around in my jacket pocket for my wallet, but she shakes her head.

"No, no, no. Take your latte, Jimin. On the house."

The atmosphere is too awkward for me to refuse the kind offer, so I take the warm cup and nod stiffly.

"Thanks, Y/N." I mumble, trying my best to give her my famous smile that makes my eyes turn into shiny crescent moons.

She replies with another smile- a sad one. She bites her bottom lip and looks away.

"Take it easy, Jimin..."

I nod stiffly and quickly leave the coffee shop.

She knows about Yoongi's decision.

And she knows that I know about Yoongi's decision. The way she smiled, followed by the "take it easy...", gave it away.

I remember what Yoongi kept saying about Y/N: she is talented at many things, but one of her talents that stand out the most is her impressive ability to read other people's emotions. She always knew when something was bothering Yoongi, no matter how hard he tried to hide his emotions.

She is also good at guessing what the problem was:

Her: Yoongi, what's wrong? You miss your family, don't you?

Him: Yeah, how'd you know?

Her: When you love someone, you know them so well that you know what makes them sad and what makes them happy.

Yoongi hyung once said he wanted to put the words in that conversation into a song. I don't know if he ever did.

I wish I had Y/N's talent. I wish I could know what Taehyung's problem was without him telling me. We're best friends, so our souls are connected. When he's sad, so am I. When he's happy, I'm happy.

Our strong connection makes us more than best friends... soulmate best friends?

My body seems to be moving on its own. I find myself setting my cup of latte on a table outside the coffee shop. I pull a chair back and sit down, then I take out my wallet and find a folded-up blank piece of paper inside one of the leather pockets.

I don't even remember why there is a blank piece of paper in my wallet, but I'm glad I have it.

Just like old times, I start writing a letter.

Dear Taehyung...
