Reader's POV
A few days later.
Yoongi is supposed to be leaving for Tokyo today. Namjoon said it would be more romantic if I met him at the airport and confess that I still love him.
"It'll be like a scene from a movie." Namjoon had said.
I want to tell him that life doesn't go that way. What if Yoongi rejects me? What if I'm embarrassed in front of everyone at the airport? There are so many bad possibilities it makes my head hurt. But I don't tell Namjoon because it's obvious that he's excited and he thinks he planned things really well, so I don't want to ruin his happiness.
Namjoon drives me to the airport. Jennie and Seokjin come with us, and they sit together in the back row. Watching those two being all happy and cuddly with each other makes me miss Yoongi even more. I miss his warm embraces and the way he runs his hands through my hair.
We finally reach the entrance to the airport, and my heart is pounding intensely. My hands shake as I step out of the car, leaving my three friends behind. I look over my shoulder and see them giving me a thumbs-up sign, telling me that everything will be okay.
We arrived four hours before the plane for Japan leaves. Knowing Yoongi, he always arrives at the airport three hours early. So I'm still here before him, and I can stop him the moment he arrives here.
I sit at a bench near the entrance, rubbing my hands together out of coldness and nervousness.
I look at the space where Namjoon parked his car, but they left already. They want to leave me and Yoongi alone so we can have the "moment" to ourselves.
I sit there for what seems like hours. For a while, I stare at the people walking into the airport, hoping one of them will be Yoongi. Then I give up and stare at the couple's ring on my finger. It makes me feel stronger somehow.
Suddenly, my heart skips a beat. I haven't seen him yet, but I know he's here. It's what made us such a special couple: we could sense each other's presence.
I slowly look up and there he is, stepping out of a taxicab. My face grows warmer as I notice his powerful, mysteriously attractive appearance. He wears ripped black skinny jeans, a loose black sweater, and black running shoes. He has dyed his hair blonde.
I am about to approach him, but five bodyguards rush out of the car and surround him. I stop in my tracks, overcome with hesitation.
Still they, see me. They eye my warily and one of the bodyguards nudges Yoongi.
"Sir, I think there's a fangirl here. There's only one of them, it wouldn't hurt to say hi."
Another bodyguard frowns. "No, don't. Even though it's just one girl, it'll draw too much attention."
"Let's just keep moving forward. Yoongi has a flight to catch..." Another bodyguard suggests, urging the others forward.
"Wait." A deep voice comes from within the shield of bodyguards.
"I'll say hi. What could go wrong? Besides, there's not that many people here at the moment." Yoongi chuckles.
"O-okay, Sir." One bodyguard moves out of the way.
My feet stay glued on the ground. I have no fucking idea what to do! I'm a nervous wreck, and it's shown through my shaking hands and red face.
Yoongi emerges from behind the bodyguards. He has a smile prepared on his face, but when his eyes meet mine, the smile disappears. He stops walking and just stares at me. I can't read his expression.
"Y/N..." he says quietly. "What're you-"
I gather up all the courage inside of me and run towards him. My body collides with his and I wrap my arms around his waist tightly, burying my face in his chest.
"Don't leave." I whisper against his chest.
Yoongi stands stiffly at first, but he relaxes and hugs me back, stroking my hair softly.
"Y/N..."
I stand back and look up at him. "Yoongi, I know we had closure a few days ago, but I'd only be lying to myself if I said I was over you. I know you love your career more, but I can't be happier with anyone else but you. I'm fine with a long-distance relationship, even though it's not ideal. But I'm willing to try."
Yoongi stares at me in shock. Suddenly, he breaks into a fit of laughter.
My vision stars to blur and I hastily wipe at the tears falling down my face.
"What's so funny?!" I wail in disbelief. This was definitely not the reaction I was expecting.
Yoongi stops laughing and smiles, wiping my tears with his thumb. Then, without warning, he dips his head towards mine and kisses me softly.
I pull him closer, even though I'm still confused. I miss being kissed like this.
He reluctantly breaks the kiss and rests his forehead against mine.
"I'm sorry for laughing, but I'm just surprised at the coincidence. I went to the airport today to cancel my flight ticket. Then I was gonna find you and tell you I'm gonna stay, since I love you and miss you too much. But you always have to beat me to everything." He chuckles and tucks a strand of hair behind my ear.
"W-what?" My head is spinning. Is this real? Is he really staying?
"I miss Bangtan too." He adds, smiling.
"B-but, you really wanted to go solo." I say, still in disbelief.
"I thought I was. But I couldn't just leave everything behind, especially you." He leans in to kiss me again.
"Wait!" I exclaim. He stops and stares at me in confusion.
"I love you." I whisper.
A real, genuine smile appears on Yoongi's face.
"I love you too, Y/N."
