Once Upon A Time

There was a little girl

With bright eyes and brown hair.

One day,

She discovered her favorite story.

Cinderella.

Cinderella was a beautiful young girl,

The girl with bright eyes and brown hair was always told she was beautiful.

Who was a maid to her evil stepmother

She often found herself raising her young step siblings while her stepmother slept.

And two step sisters.

At the age of 11, she was raising 3 kids.

Cinderella lived in a small room

The girl with bright eyes and brown hair had a little room in the basement with a bed and a closet.

Which resided in a big house.

She never understood why her room was so far away from everyone else's.

Cinderella was alone,

The girl with bright eyes and brown hair was alone,

Her only friends being mice,

Her only friends being stuffed animals and books,

And her only family being in her mind.

And her only family living upstairs and 3 miles away.

Cinderella soon receives a letter,

The girl with bright eyes and brown hair begins to grow up.

Inviting her and her step sisters to a royal ball.

The girl with bright eyes and brown hair begins to realize that life isn't what it seemed.

After being torn to bits,

After being torn to bits,

She found magic

She finally left.

That could get her to where she wanted to be.

Out in the rain, with her favorite stuffed bunny carefully placed in her crowded backpack.

Cinderella soon finds herself at the royal ball,

The girl with bright eyes and brown hair finds herself in a large building full of interesting people who wanted nothing to do with her.

Dressed in a beautiful gown

With her head held high and her hair tied up, she walked.

And delicate glass slippers.

She walked carefully in her imaginary, sparkling, delicate glass slippers.

As Cinderella entered,

A bored looking prince watched her every step

With wide eyes.

As the girl with bright eyes and brown hair walked, she imagined a gorgeous prince watching her every step with awe.

As if the magic of love began with the eyes.

Cinderella and the prince, discovering love, danced the night away.

The girl with bright eyes and brown hair continued to walk, discovering a wonderland in her mind, her bright eyes slowly began to fade.

Until the clock struck midnight.

Until a dark voice drew pictures in her mind.

Cinderella ran to her small room, forgetting one glass slipper.

The girl with the fading eyes and imperfect hair began to run, forcefully shutting her eyes.

Cinderella lost her magic.

The girl with the fading eyes and messy hair fell to her knees and covered her ears.

Cinderella was alone again.

And the girl with bright eyes and brown hair was gone, with nothing left but her frail soul and bones.

Cinderella woke up extra early that morning to a bright, forgiving sun.

The girl with faded eyes and messy hair uncovered herself, with no sign of her stuffed rabbit.

Cinderella rushed downstairs to the sound of a man's voice.

The girl with faded eyes and messy hair looked foreward with invisible tears and a strong face,

Cinderella meets eyes once again with the handsome prince from the night before, who held in his hand, a delicate glass slipper.

The girl with faded eyes and messy hair, wiping her past away from her cheeks, met eyes with a boy with dark eyes and a chipped tooth.

Cinderella was reunited with her love of last night.

The girl with faded eyes and messy hair stared at the broken boy who stood in front of her, as if to see herself.

Cinderella and her handsome prince fell hopelessly in love.

The girl with the faded eyes and messy hair quickly fell in convincing love with the broken boy.

Cinderella leaves her dark past of parents behind, saying goodbye to her mice, and saying hello to her handsome prince.

The girl with faded eyes walked hand in hand with the broken boy until the wind began to blow.

Cinderella and her handsome prince live happily ever after.

The girl with faded eyes and a faint spark in her fading smile was far away from the broken boy, who gave into the wind.

The broken girl stood straight up with bright eyes and fastened hair continued to walk, feeling a bit of warm sunlight hitting her pale skin.

And with everything she knew, her bright eyes will soon return.

And so will her smile.

And so will the magic of love.
