I collapsed into Gage's arms as he wrapped himself around me. I was cold, sobbing, and quite miserable. The fact that my mom didn't even come after me was a real ball buster.
"Shhhhhh baby it's okay. Just let it out. I'm here for you," Gage insisted. He was now sitting while I was basically laying on him. He was stroking my hair and hugging me tightly.
"My... dad..... moving... back..." I mangaged to get out in between sobs. "Mom.... forcing..... me.... to..... see... him...." I said.
"What the hell? Why is he moving back?" Gage questioned. He knows my issues and understands them. His mom left when he was 5. She now has a new family and calls him her "mistake."
I shrugged my shoulders in reply. I knew why, I just didn't want to explain it. I could barely get out 4 words, let alone a whole story. I heard the door open behind me. I glanced behind me to find my mom, John, and Madi. I turned right back around, not making eye contact with any of them.
"Come on Elle, let's go home," John said while kneeling down next to me. Still not making eye contact, I shook my head. I was not going home with my mother, whether she liked it or not.
"Stop being over dramatic and get in the damn car. I want to get home now. Gage, go home," my mother growled. Still not making eye contact, I got up. Gage looked at me in confusion.
"Let's go," I mumble to him. He quickly scrambles up. I start walking to his car when I hear my mother yelling behind me. I didn't care. I opened the passenger door and look behind me. John is holding my mom back, calming her down. Gage is walking towards the car with his head down.
"Let her go, she needs time to process this. I'll pick her up in the morning," I hear John tell my mom. This was the last thing I heard before getting into the car and closing the door. I thrusted my head back as more tears roll down my cheeks.
"Where do you wanna go?" Gage asked.
"Anywhere away from her," I whisper.
Gage nodded and pulled out of the restaurant parking lot. I figure out that we're going to his house. I look over at him and grab his hand. Looked at me and gave a sympathetic smile.
"Thanks. I love you," I cry out.
"I love you too baby," he replies. When we arrive at his house, he comes around and opens the door for me. I got out and just hugged him. I squeezed him and put my head on his chest. He kissed my forehead. We just stood there for what seemed like days.
