"Mummy, I don't understand!" The small girl wailed, "Where are you going?"
"Oh Darling, please don't cry."
"I don't want you to go." She whimpered, nuzzling into her mother's chest.
"Lizzie?"
"Yeah?"
"Be strong, okay? And look after your brother. He needs you." The woman instructed, her lip quivering.
She was not about to cry in front of her little girl. Not again. Not ever again.
"Mummy, I'm scared."
"That's okay." She lightly smiled.
"But-"
"Fear isn't about strength. Fear is a kind of madness. But a kind that can be useful if you know how it works. Fear will take you by the hand, care for you and the things you love. It's an invisible shield. Always face fear with courage, understand it, and then let it go. Let these fears wake you up, let them show you the way to your true self, to the brave soul whose love shines like a star. For without fear, love is brighter, stronger, deeper. I'm not scared anymore, Lizzie. I love you. Please remember that."
"I don't understand!" Eliza cried again, her big blue eyes glistening.
"I know, baby." Her mother sighed, "But you will soon."

Then she left.
