One Direction Sickfics

Niall lactose intolerant- for Ram_3500

"It's absolutely freezing outside!" Niall said through chattering teeth as he rubbed his hands together, trying to warm up a little. His face was extremely flushed from the contact with the cold air and his nose was probably more red than Rudolph's. 

It was currently the middle of winter and it was the first snowy day of the year that they had experienced. Niall was obviously a little too excited and decided to go outside for a bit to see the snow covered ground. 

Louis and Harry joined him soon after and they all ended up having a great time outside. Although they seemed to be regretting it now as they just couldn't warm up. Liam offered to make some hot cocoa which was a genius idea.

Liam was currently in the process of filling the mugs with milk. He microwaved one for a few seconds until it was hot enough to pour the hot cocoa powder in. He filled one mug up with boiling water for Niall since he was lactose intolerant and would probably be sick for the rest of the week if he consumed a milk based hot cocoa. 

Liam placed another milk filled mug into the microwave before dumping the powder into the water filled one and stirring it. He placed it next to the other hot cocoa that was finished before turning back to the microwave and grabbing out the last mug.

Once he turned around he realized he had absolutely no idea which was which. He took a sip from each, trying to differentiate the drinks. He sighed in defeat after noticing they taste exactly the same. 

He decided to just take a guess and hope he was right or else it would be a terrible night for Niall. He didn't want to risk it at all but they were out of hot cocoa mix so he couldn't make a new one even if he wanted to.

"Come get your cocoa!" Liam called loudly from the kitchen, biting his lip in fear after realizing just how bad this could turn out. He decided not to mention it just in case nothing happened but he knew he'd have to bring it up later if Niall ended up sick.

Liam handed Niall the mug he had chosen and Niall looked incredibly grateful. He took a big sip before giving Liam a big smile. It only made Liam more scared for the outcome of this. Niall looked so appreciative and it wouldn't be fair if he just accidentally got handed a dairy drink.

"Thanks, Li," Harry said as he took a sip of his own. Louis nodded, trying to give a thank you without actually speaking since he was busy chugging his down. Once they had all finished they went into the living room to watch some TV before going to sleep.

They all silently watched TV on the couch for a little while until Niall finally spoke up. 

"I think I'm going to go to bed guys, I'm tired," Niall said with a yawn and Liam noticed that his hands were positioned carefully on his stomach. Liam hoped it was just a coincidence and that the boy wasn't feeling sick.

"Goodnight, Niall," Harry said quietly, sounding half asleep himself.  It was only a few minutes later when they all decided to shut off the TV and get some rest. They all said their goodnights before heading into their bedrooms. 

Liam stayed awake for an hour, trying to go to sleep. His mind kept racing and he was afraid that Niall would walk in any second, complaining of an upset stomach. It was extremely worrying to know that he could have caused this.

He should have just mentioned it when he mixed up the hot cocoas. He should have told Niall to just taste them himself and see. He surely knew the difference between them since he had been avoiding dairy all his life.

But no, Liam just had to make things difficult and now he was facing the consequences alone in the dark bedroom. He re-positioned himself before finally feeling a little comfortable. He was slightly sweaty from all the panicking he was doing and he knew he wouldn't be able to fall asleep soon.
