It's hard......hard to live two lives... Especially when one of those lives become less of you each day... Even when this part of me, that's slowly leaving is the one that should.
But it's the one that also keeps me alive.
After learning the truth, after learning what I'd done, what I caused. I let the theory of "all supernatural's are the enemy" die, and found the real cause. It's the hunters, the ones who are close minded, the ones that are taken over by fear. And now, it seemed like the whole town was on that boat, ran by fear. Which worried me.....I mean, look what it did to me.
So, after the run in with Theo, I started being cautious of the "enemy" to Monroe and Gabe. When I was told to dispose of the "supernatural", I didn't...I'd let them go secretly. Beth would help, still hoping one day she'd see her cousin again......
I was playing both sides dangerously, obviously leaning to one side, more then the other. Which, Beth questioned...so did Theo. But, they didn't understand. These hunters-Gerald were ruthless. Anyone that'd fall out, would be shot down, and forgotten. Only known as a traitor.
So, on a Tuesday night, when I was called by Gabe....I wasn't expecting such a disaster.
He called me, it took a while for me to answer. Beth lay by my side, as I force myself to get up. I squint my eyes to the bright light, only to pick up the phone seconds later.
"I need your help with something." Says Gabe, almost trembling. I tense, worried knowing it must be more serious then I thought.
I wanted to hang up, and let this pass over my shoulder. But, I had to play the role. I had to be believable, to survive. This was almost a consequence for starting such a thing. When truthfully, it was my doing.
So, I sigh, and tell him, I'm on my way. I bite down on my lip, and quickly get dress hoping to not wake Beth. But it was too late.
"Where are you going?" She asked with a raspy voice. I force a smile, still getting dressed.
"They need me." I say, and she raises an eyebrow. "Oh, right. That double life of yours." She jokes before lying back down.
"Just be careful." She says, and I stop and stare at her for a moment, taking her words. "Yea, I-I will...No worries." I tell her, almost not believing my own words.
"Be Careful." She says to me before I head out.,
On my way downstairs, I'm startled by an awake Theo. Standing in the dark, waiting for me.
"You have to stop doing that." I say to him, and he chuckles.
"Yea, I'm not Beth." He says, and I look down.
"It's Gabe....I think he's in trouble." I say to him, and he walks over to him.
"I'll help." Theo says and I nod.
When I make it to Gabes, I then get into a car packed with hunters and began driving somewhere. Theo is somewhere, secretly following behind us.
And I'm lost. No one would tell us, where we were, or where we were going. For a second I was convinced they'd found out about me. But soon we reach a house.
As I prepare to ask Gabe where we were, he beats me to it, and says. "Scott Mccall's."I tense, and panic inside.
"Gabe-Does Monroe know about this." I ask, and he shakes his head.
"She will tomorrow. So will most of the town.....and you know what, they'll be thankful that are rivals numbers will be lowered.
"Gabe, what are you planning?" I nervously chuckling, hoping his answer was mediocre.
"Scott's house's going to get a little blast. Hopefully with a few casualties." He says, oddly chuckling.
"And you're going to help me."
I really hope Theo was fast enough.
